NL25: std cold4b spot with AK
BB: 25.13
UTG: 25.35
HJ: 27.55
CO: 26.10
BN: 25.78 (Hero)
UTG raises to 0.75, HJ folds, CO raises to 2.25
I played this hand today and was just wondering myself if cold4betting AK, QQ w/o any history accomplishes that much. At that point all three players involved have shown reggy/laggy tendencies over a small sample but in unspectacular spots like 3bets BTN vs blinds or CO v BTN. I don't think anyone would mindlessly shuffle the money in just because I cold4b in a semi-decent spot and I think UTG will still have AK+, QQ+ almost always when 5bet shoving here, CO might mix in some JJ, TT, AQ now and then but altogether I think that's still fairly rare at these stakes, at least unless we have some (cold)4b/5b history which we don't have yet.
I also don't think someone would ever flat my 4b OOP so most of the time I'll be collecting dead money or facing a shove I'm unhappy to sad having to call it off because I don't expect it to be very profitable (if at all) with a huge amount of variance.
Any merits in overcalling here, at least IP?
