NL25 - Bluffcatcher against an aggro fish

UTG: $15.28
HJ: $25
CO: $86.86
BN: $6.75
SB: $27.54
BB: $26.68 (Hero)
Preflop ($0.35) (6 Players)
Hero was dealt Q Q
UTG raises to $1, CO calls $1, BN folds, SB folds, Hero raises to $3.50, UTG folds, CO calls $2.50
Flop ($8.35) A 9 J (3 Players)
Hero bets $4, CO calls $4
Turn ($16.35) A 9 J 9 (3 Players)
Hero checks, CO checks
River ($16.35) A 9 J 9 5 (3 Players)
Hero checks, CO bets $79.36, and is all in
villain is an aggro fish over a very small sample, i have 19$ left behind on the river.

My read was that he's probably never checking back the turn with a 9x or Ax to then jam like that on a brick. Felt like he was going to bet a lot smaller for value to make me hero call since it looks like i have air after checking twice.

There's not a ton of stuff for him to be turning into a bluff especially when you have two queens in your hand blocking combos of KQ and Q10which are both going to bet the turn some non-zero % of the time.

good point James, i completely forgot about the fact that i had blockers for some reason to his most obvious/common bluff hands on the river :( I'll try to work on that and think about blockers even more now and not only when i'm trying to rep a bluff myself.

Prefer checking flop against a fish. As played, I´d fold the river expecting him to bluff differently mostly and have something "tricky"

interesting that you decide to check the flop against a fish, care to elaborate more about your thoughts process? Is it solely because we have 2nd pair or you're taking board texture into account?

Another reason to fold is that perhaps this villain is a bit more keen then your giving him credit for and he s jamming a Ax hand to get you off the chop. So you don t beat all his bluffs...
