I'd personally just call the turn again. You can certainly have a shoving range ott, but it'd be narrow and I think you actually value cut yourself a bit with your strong hands and the EV lost with these hands isn't enough to make up for the EV gained by the hands you'd bluff with. I also wouldn't bluff with this hand as it has too much equity overall to consider turning it into a bluff.
Pre/flop is standard.
Turn shove looks draw-weighted to me and i think its getting snapped off by aq+ most of the time and maybe even worse.
Would you play 88,55 like this?
What is wrong with playing sets like this though? I mean turn makes the board quite draw heavy so raising it might make sense for both value and protection.
linear three bet range will push alot of EQ here, and wouldent be surprised to see IP range bet this spot.
I like your turn play very sexy! obv calling at some frequency as well. We only really rep slowplays and 67s ott so I wouldent raise here every-time.
After he barrels turn our SD value is weakening and we have very nice blockers to his value region; ie: 88 67s (if he three bets)
I'd mostly call this and maybe jam Ahigh + gutshots and hands like 65cc/T9cc etc.
It doesnt make much sense to me to shove weaker draws but call pretty strong ones. Your sdv and implied odds dont matter at all.
Is it standard now to open 2x bb and not 3x?
I open 2,5
Players use all kinds of sizes these days. I think 2bb open works particularly well at these stakes because player doesn't call enough in the BB, but might not work as well at higher stakes.
I also open 2.5x but I am not sure whether it is still standard. It used to be but more and more often I see people opening 2x.
i open 2.5 too but i do see a lot of people open 2x
You risk 20 to win 13.5 . You have potentially 5outs to 2pair/trips, 9flush outs and 3 straight outs, so massive EQ and you almost need no folds to make this shove +EV. Its also good for balance I suppose, so that he cannot overfold KK++
I don't think anyone would argue against shoving being profitable, but is it better than checking?
