I don't really like the squeeze here because the dude opened to 4BB which is a rare thing in ssnl. It signifies unyielding resolve in many cases and snap folds to 3bet in some. I open to 4BB on CO once in a while when I see trouble makers behind me, thinking they fold more and 3bet less pre but I think I might have to ditch that program because if my memory serves, it's not working out that great. This dude however did it on HJ which is more likely for straight value IMO. James Hudson talks about this preflop line in one of his videos in that they often do have a strong range and that wanna play a huge pot postflop.
I tend to give him credit here preflop and I'd rather squeeze AJo than AJs in general not here but, because latter has a lot better playability postflop even oop sometimes in +3 way pots.
As played, I think you nailed it yourself, you just rep very little, almost desperate, FOS, not good, it makes no difference here because he has a set but I believe he flats or shoves with comparatively weaker value range.
ty...if a just called here then what would u play OTF facing his cbet and then OTT
Let's just assume that he is strong, when he cbets on flop, his range is more likely over pairs KK/QQ than AK/AQ because you block an Ace so CR on flop is bad for the same reasons as before although it's more credible than in a squeeze pot like repping a set is easier in SRP. But don't forget, with 4BB open, it's not just the range you are dealing against but his resolve and attitude on what he sees as a committing board textures and as for preflop I believe if you were to 3bet/shove I think he would call so the same resolve is there also. I have seen this kind of cement before many times in maniacs, rec, and regs on downswing or upswing. You also block his FD which should be apparent to him somewhat in view of his hole cards.
So, CC CC CF is a fine play because IO is cemented in his zeal thus we are still drawing optimally.
