NL200 — turning JJ into bluff OTR

BN: $200
SB: $86.68
BB: $451.50
UTG: $364.85
HJ: $202 (Hero)
CO: $214.30
Preflop ($3.00) (6 Players)
Hero was dealt J J
UTG folds, Hero raises to $6, CO folds, BN folds, SB folds, BB raises to $18, Hero calls $12
Flop ($39.00) 9 6 8 (2 Players)
BB bets $22, Hero calls $22
Turn ($83.00) 9 6 8 7 (2 Players)
BB bets $38, Hero calls $38
River ($159.00) 9 6 8 7 4 (2 Players)
BB checks, Hero checks
Final Pot
BB has K K BB wins $154.20

My opponent is weak regular with 3% 3bet BBvsUTG, cbet 68% in 3bet pots, 51/56/47 total cbets OOP and 89% (8/9) fold to R float  bet.

His range is capped because he has no sets, nor straights, nor flushes in it. And we can have anything of it easily. So there was a good chance to make fold AA/KK shoving (62bb into 78.5bb pot), right? Would you fold your strong overpair if you were BB? Especially if you had As blocker?

And what about my turn call?

Thanks in advance!

Turn call is a mistake IMO. It's unlikely that villain with these stats is double barreling light on this board which strongly favors our range, especially for this sizing. Folding JJ ott might be super exploitable, but I wouldn't worry too much about it tbh.

River is a must bluff I think. We're going to have plenty of sets/Tx/flushes that we are going to want to value shove with. Also, we have pretty near the bottom of our range otr as I can't think of too many worse hands we would play this way with. Maybe QJ, but only the 4 combos of QJs flat preflop. And even then, we probably bluff raise QJss ott so maybe only 3 combos.

I agree with all of this. I'm also surprised that KK is in his turn betting range and would make a note of that.

Thanks for your help. I thought about bluffing the river the moment I checked, so it was too late. Now I see that it was the only right line to take.

if you dont bluff raise turn , you just definitely bluff river with your blockers.... he shouldn't bet bet check call an overpair here except TT ( not in 3betting range ? )... he has no str8 and no flush in his range
