Retrospectively I feel the check on the turn was really bad and we miss value from Jx.
On the other hand on a 3bet pot the line of bet bet bet would probably only be called by AJ,KJ and 8x and random fdraws?

HI fam,
Pretty straight forward hand above.
I still feel that checking is a +EV line as I can still go for value on the river on most rivers and wont polarize my range as much/turn my hand faceup.
How would you play it?

Seems fine to me. Therefore Villain has quite a bit of 8x an his range we have to either bet small or check OTT. I also prefer check due to the fact, that some players just bet mindless everything OTR then
Don't check the turn, bet 1/4 pot like you did on the flop. His range is so wide and not just 8x. You bet small on flop just to keep is range wide, and then on the turn you just assume he's mostly 8x so you check. What? Then just bet huge on the flop. Inconsistent logic and line taken here.
JamesYang I appreciate your comments. Yes i see how this is an inconsistent line. Thank you for the input.
In-game I would probably just bet turn.
Now, do we loose value from AJ, KJ which would pay us 3 streets? Definitely, as we won't be raising the river. How many 8x would he have? And, you do block BDFD with hearts (part of his turn folding range) which would bluff the river sometimes, so it's not ideal to have Ah I guess.
Would this somewhat close to his calling range PF from the SB?
