Another spot to consider checking OTF but TPGK vs confirmed passive bad player then ya betting is better but I m sure its still close. I ve looked villains up a few times in these chopped spots and they seem to often have it. Remember they can just win 1/2 the pot by checking so its somewhat next level to jam.
reason to check with TPGK vs fish OOP? hard to calldown if he think okay I want to bluff now vs MCB. this minbet OTT sick :D
The reasons to check is that its a coordinated board and you have a hand that plays poorly once ranges are narrower and the board changes. Its a dynamic board so thats going to be more often then not. Vs regs or anyone capable of any reasonable play I check my range here.
A Passive player will both have a wider preflop range, check the flop more often and play honestly later streets so betting becomes better. Not saying this exact spot is a check but just consider it when you get to similar spots.
I agreed with you vs regs with this holding but versus fish it's valuebet or bet-fold. I can slow on other streets too. maybe IP vs fish it's bet F,check T,decide R or potcontrol from the start
