The lower our overpair the more inclined we are to be betting. So QQ bets more often than KK and those bet more often than AA.
The reason is that it's easy to get stacks in at this depth so no need to bet the stronger hands just yet. And the lower pockets have more turn cards they have seeing.
Turn I'm ok with. It's not a card we like seeing though but can get value from 9x and some smaller pairs for sure. Maybe even unpaired AX hands.
River I would still valuebet. TT might call, 9x might call. It's not that likely that villain has you beat. Sure he had a better hand this time but it feels like missed value. Villain isn't going to have enough KK and Jx to be calling. Has to call more than that.
Citanul I agrree with you. I know waht youre saying, the higher the overpair in relation with the board, more we can check, but in the flop I figured his range and the only hands im beating are AK and TT, loosing to AA,KK,JJ,99. Those are 18 combos in the flop vs the 22 combos of AK and TT. In the turn I bet more for information or to see how he reacts to a really small bet. When he only calls I assume his hand is beating me.
I know theorically this is not the best way to play the hand, but watching the ending result I think its a victory only loosing 40 blinds in this spot.
Ty for your comments.
This actually makes his range more capped with a bunch of middle strengh hands (88,T9s,98s,TT,AK).
We should go for another valuebet (small) on the river.
Agree w IIICitanul.
Also dont forget to make a note that he just called your 4b pre with KK BBvBTN 168bb deep.
Btw I like your sizing pre, not many players are increasing their 3b/4b sizes according to the stack size
Last, just about the title, its not 3bet pot, but 4bet:)
Cheers
Yeah its 4 bet pot. I was a bit stunned at the moment. I knew he was playing really unorthodox because I pictured his range quite good, but when he showed me KK I was impressed he didnt take the lead in any street. I noted that, seems really strange he does that with KK, I mean in his shoes I would call AA so his 4bet bluffs are still in the hand but never with KK.
I dont think that his call is that bad for 10nl. Regs dont 4bet bluff enough 100bb deep, I doubt they will start 4bet bluffing more being deep. If he 5bets I guess you are folding QQ, right? So his play seems fine to me.
maco I am not saying its bad.. I think it might be actually fine (not sure how tight is nl10 pool though). I just think its more of an exception
bet flop is so mandatory pls how else are we suppose to make money
