That's probably a GTO call, but that's probably better to make an explotive fold.
W/o read, you can x/c and take a note. You will know if he is capable of 3 barrels bluff (a lot of players are never ever 3 barreling with bluffs).
Versus a fish, I snap first pump call.
Okay.
What about check-calling the flop and especially check-calling the turn?
Versus an unknow or w/o read, I think it is better to bet flop + turn to build a pot and to have some FE. Probably x/f river unless we hit a good card (K is probably the "nut" bluff card, all the other cards are bad imo). And probably x/c a ton of A on the river to pick up his miss draws (too much fold equity I think).
Versus a reg you are playing a lot, or a fish that will spazz IP when checked to, I like it :
* deception + balance versus the regz who will probably make bigger mistakes versus our "capped" range (we can x/c x/c CR river when we hit, it is very nice) and later versus our balanced range (giving us free cards when we have weak SD value OOP when the flush came, or not be able to v-bet the river too thinly) ;
* exploitation versus the aggro fish who will overbluff the board a ton with no almost no equity.
cc flop is fine in these spots if you are using a range v range strategy, where this board is likely to be better for him than us. as far as cc the turn it seems fine in that we still beat every draw hes barreling. Also our equity against something like JJ is more than good enough to call anyway.
So Its about $30 to call and win $40 on the river. The way its been played it looks like he just has KQ or QJ really often. KJ would probably check on the turn i believe? A10 K10 J10 KQ QJ 108s are hands you beat i think. You lose to 910, Q10, mabye J8, KJ.
After thinking this out Im just not sure what the best play here is.
My gut tells me its really close. Man I wish i had some insight but it seems tough.
Anyone else have insight into this hand or want to elaborate/correct the ranges i put together?
