I like bet/folding really small $6~7. I dont expect villains to bluff-raise their weak sd value hands often and you still get called by worse sometimes.
Hmm nice thought, I didn't even think about this. Maybe we could even go a little bit bigger, and still get the same amount of calls?
Definitrly checking the river. JT makes sense for Villian, and he'll call fewer Ax because he doesn't beat much.
If he bets a reasonable amount, you can call.
What is the max amount you'd call here? If he bets bigger than that, this hand seems like a nice candidate for a ch/raise bluff, isn't it? Or you don't expect him to fold 2pair ever, so you go ahead and muck aq?
Looks like a good value bet spot to me BvB
So you expect villain to call here with a7-a9? Im not sure about that.
I think this is the perfect hand to put into cr range and shove river facing a bet. We have As blocker, and AQ is close to borderline to check-call. SB vs BB ranges will be wide and as played you can credibly rep flushes.
Check shove? Would we be turning our hand into a bluff in that case? Very confusing thought.
Yh I do Will
xc river aginst normal sizes. if he overbets or jams is a very gross spot. I like the checking option more on this super dry boards, also.
Mind elaborating a little bit more? Exactly against what part of his range do you think checking plays better than betting? Imo, the whole decision should be based on how villain plays his weak aces, right? Do you believe he is more likely to bet than call A5, for example? Do you think he will ever turn his tens into bluffs?
I think it is optimistic to have two streets of value on the larger side with AQo on this dry texture. I am comfortable betting flop, checking turn and if goes check through bet river. My assumptions relies on that we will cbet this texture a high percentage of the time and he can profitably float hits gutters there, and that are plenty. If he bets turn with KJ for example and we check-call, he will have K high OTR and needs to bluff his hand (in this case he got some sd value with the J but it is irrelevant).
This is not a game theoretical approach, is totally exploring the texture. The problem when you bet-bet-check is that you let your range to be exploited since he has more backdoor flush draws than you OTF (he does not know that you have As that blocks a lot of his fd combos) and he can jam some Ks hand, Qs and also, a part of this hands now have a straight, that he can use to balance his pure bluffs with KsT, QsT and hands like that.
On the turn his range gets a little capped but he does not have a huge incentive to raise his 2 pair there. If the board bricks off he may raise the top2 or top and mid OTR. This is one of the reasons for me if I bet bet to check call. I am not used to online play and have no clue how a reg at nl100 plays his baby aces but I like to think that he checks back a good portion of the time.
