Fold against regular and call against rec.
Regulars are usually there with some flushdraws and then AK/AQs, maybe with some sets (especially 77) and i dont think that there is enough non-A flushdraws.
Rec will have wider range and also should do more polarization mistakes (like shoving other pairs than Ax).
i think vs rec i prefer to shove turn myself. you will still see calls from 88-JJ and I see suited broadways more often checking behind than semi-bluff jamming from recs.
Really need some villain info for this spot, it can make the difference, it is well played from me if you have no info.vs no info its fine to fold or even toss coin.
You should also have a greater introspect of what is happening with your range on that turn card, for example how much of your Ax you bet the flop with and then check that turn where you improve, this will help you for your game in general and for spots like this when you battling regs or better enviroment opponents,i say that because some players might have JJ-KK as their best hands in this line and check fold everything
Hard to give answer, you didn't provide any info. In some cases villian will just bet too much vs your check and call become profitable, in other cases you up against strong ranges with 2 outs. Maybe way behind, little ahead scenario.
Sorry of I just add more questions and not real answer, but, assuming villain's a reg:
Wouldn't be better for him to 4b-call AK since there are 2 more players yet to act and he Hero could be squeezing wide?
Assuming villain decides to call some of his Ax the correct play for him is to float the flop with something like AsK or AKs?
Population 3bet BBvsMP is crazy low in these enviroments, and now just add to the equasion that he's challanging 3 other people on the way. This sqz is usually propably 3-4%, AK does not do well 4betting against these kinds of range.
i would cbet 1/3 flop
ott i think its fold, u have some AK,AQ here ofc AA
i think 4bet call with AK as a vilian is a bad option, better just shove...
Why should be better shoving than 4-bet calling?
Sometimes you'll be 4b-folding with blockers in this spot, seems weird to just shove AK if u 4-bet fold KQ/AJ.
maybe because there is too much dead money and we are not really want to 4bet bluffing here (if we do, I think logic that we don't have many bluffs because our 4bet will be big and we calling 5bet shove very often)
yea because dead money
u can bluff 4bet shove with A5s
Idk, i feel like Hero here should be 3betting pretty wide since pot is so large already and so the open raiser should fight back quite often and I don't really like calling since there are 2 players behind.
But this could not apply at nl10 or I could just be wrong
Hi pple, would the decision be any different if turn was a K instead of A?
K would be really similar to A, AK hits both of those cards and there are A-high flushdraws as well as K-high flushdraws (slightly more A than K).
I think its a fold at these stakes vs average villain. I used to level myself in these spots and burn through stacks thinking I had to call kings and queens to prevent people from bluffing me in this spot but its better to just check AA and AK-AQ with A of spades OTT if you are squeezing QQ+ and AQ+ in this situation. Now you will have 12 combos folding and 11 calling which makes an any two card bluff indifferent.
Next time I think villains stats would be useful because we need to know his opening % 4bet and fold to 3bet at a minimum to deduce the possibility of bluffs etc. With reads and your own notes or pt notes this could be a trivial call tho as your large cbet will have cleared most Ax from villains range and some will bluff jam any pp or draw hoping you will fold all your JJ-KK Or discount you having an ace after you check and jam worse pairs for protection, but the probability of this happening depends heavily on the range they get to this spot with. Against some really tight players in the nl10z pool I would bluff jam tens here thinking they are folding 12 combos of JJ-QQ and only have 2 combos of AQ and AK spades they can call with, it all depends on villain...
