NL10 - A5o bvb X/R 853ss as pfr vs aggro reg.
SB: $18.51 (Hero)
BB: $10
UTG: $10.10
HJ: $4.74
CO: $4.79
UTG folds, HJ folds, CO folds, BN folds, Hero raises to $0.20, BB calls $0.10
BB is a 22/17/3.1 in 1.1k hands. He calls bb vs sb 45%, 3b 7% and fold 48%.
WWSF = 51%, Bet IP vs missed cb 83%(12).
Agg Freq = Flop 46%, Turn 54%, River 32%.
Raise Flop CB IP = 10%(21)
Notes:
*bvb C 3b vs me. x/mr 3/5 cb AJ8rKs and give up turn
*overvalue hands/bluffs often when senses my weakness as pfr?
So as you can see this guy is very agressive when it is checked to him.
I was playing quite tight in that table in 80hands. Don't know if he is aware of that. On this flop I thought that because he is soo agressive and is defending a very wide range bb vs sb, and betting often vs missed cb, that I could X/R with my gut+over. Do you agree? how about the size?
On the turn I think that a bet is just mandatory for value and because it's a scare card for him.
If he calls the turn what rivers should I be betting for value? any club or heart? or I should be often check/calling because I have top pair?

Not too much a fan of minraising pre.
But then again i havnt been doing it too much myself. It just seems now BB can call about any2 for sure when you do that since he will have position.
Ye the c/r is whatever i guess it can work, you got some backdoors going and gutshot dont mind it too much. Turn i guess its a fine card to barrel as you are percieved to barrel it with your air.
I would prob barrel most blank rvrs, non diamonds. He can put you on a draw and call w 8x.
Would not like c/c since he will checkback 8x or 4x or whatever SDV he has.
Yeah I agree totally with the turn and river action.
dont like the C/R flop. I think you should get enough folds on this type of Board texture, when u C-bet. Furthermore ur A5o should be ahead of the majority of Villains BB flatting range, where i think its a mistake to check/back and give villain a potential free-card.
I think having a more balanced c-betting range OTF is more important to C/R on these types of Dry boards, when ur the original raiser.
why should we want folds on this kind of board if A5 is ahead of BB´s range?
Not sure if we bet flop for value or as a semibluff? I dont expect to get too many folds on this kind of boards if we perceive a somehwat tight SB opening range. I feel kind of lost after Cbetting thoese boards and not improving or hitting a card that is good to barrel.
And thats why im treating A5o not as a valuehand and more as a semibluff hand that i want to maximize my FE with.
So i like XR vs a guy who will also stab with hands that beat us and have to fold vs our XR
Default I'm C-betting given our A5o hand is way ahead of Villains Overall Hand range OTF.(Given OP's descriptions).
With a hand like A5o, you could also advocate Putting this hand into your Flop Checking range.
*) The reason why i wouldnt C/R with a hand like A5o, is it has Showdown equity With A-high, VS Villains Flop Air C-betting range, while we also have Disguised Value with AX/2X implied value.
Inherently, VIllains calling range is going to be tighter than Villains Betting range. By either C/C or C-betting small OTF, I still keep VIllains range relative wide, where i could take away the pot from villain on Later streets, given certain board run-outs.
So in this situation vs this specific player we wouldn't have a X/R range?
i think you should look more into the board texture, and construct a plausible C/R range based on your preflop calling range, and how it should connect with the given board texture.
F2CB stat i think is also important in determining whether to Check/Bet.
Bet>c/c>c.r
I think your play is good. Your gaining a bet from a lot of worse hands that have equity vs you that would just be folding to your flop bet since he's just auto betting flops when you check. Your hand also improves or picks up equity on a lot of turn cards so you can pretty comfortably barrel off on a lot of run-off's. One thing that might be better is having the Ad instead of the 5d, but it's still probably fine to do with any diamond.
Also not a huge fan of minraising, but I think your flop check is good considering his tendencies, although be interesting to know his fold to CB stat. Would prefer c/c rather than c/r on the flop. What range are you giving him one he calls your raise?
You fold this hand in the SB, but opening is fine. Min-raising is not good at all, though. You're giving Villian 3-to-1 to play in position.
I wouldn't c/r this board. You have an over and a wheel draw, and it's a board that doesn't connect well with either range. I'd rather c/r if I had the Ad.
