I like it vs such Villain. I would actually pot the turn to put max pressure on his Tx/OvP - it's a very good card for us - both 98 and 54 get there, we still have 33/77/TT* - I don't mind just bombing here.
As played, easy BF.
I think you played it fine. I mean turn is not a great barrell spot, but not bad either, you should have 98 some %, 77,33, t7s(?) some combodraws, fds, naked gutters. If you never barrell with gutters I think he can overfold the turn.
I'd def. just xc all gs+bdfd combos and I think that xc is superior even without the bdfd. I'd much rather xr 64s, 34s and few other combos. If we start check raising all gutters, we xr way too much, since we dont have that many value combos..so I'd check raise just the weakest ones. Check raising 3x is decent because cards that he perceives to be decent for his range improve us+blockers+equity.
wp once you xr
xf is out of the question otf
I dont think its good to call 64s, 43s on nl10 bb vs co 2.5x. Why do you think calling is better, than raising with J9s, other than that you might raise too much bluffs (which can easily be solved by using an RNG).
I'm just wondering because I can't really tell the EV difference between calling and raising. I'm just guessing it's pretty close.
Flop x/r is probably fine - the hand would likely be too strong with a bdfd since it would be such a profitable call, and it's definitely a board on which we want a x/r range since we have at least 6 combos of sets and probably 9 vs this guy, as well as T7s, and we have a decent number of combo draws as well. Would also add some stuff like QcJ. I do think it needs to be bigger against a half pot cbet.
As played, turn seems standard/fine - while he suddenly gains 4 combos which beat our entire range, we block 1 of them and it's not a huge deal anyway considering the density of Tx/overpairs/FDs in his range.
It's fine imo.
