Nl 25- 99 hero calling
SB: $32.84 (Hero)
BB: $33.04
UTG: $23.90
MP: $46.67
CO: $35.41
CO lost and shows a pair of Sixes.
SB wins $34.14
Rake is $1.61
No info on Villain (2 hands on him)
I called the flop because I figured that because he called the 3bet from CO he was likely to defend wider thus having a wider range on all streets.
Given that assumption and once I called the flop, I figured calling the turn was mandatory.
I thought that if he checked the river it meant that I would lose to a K or even a T, but when he barreled for the third time on such a dry board, I felt like he was very polarized between value hands and bluffs.
he didn't have that many logical value hands that wanted 3 streets of value in his range (10-10, K-T, 55, 65, 56, 76, 86) because I think he checks back his KQ-KJ type hands OTR and when he bets half pot on the river, it seems unlikely he has a monster either.
So I called and felt good about him having A-3o (WTF) but after I was really doubting my call and reasoning.
Was I lucky or did my play make any sense ? Is that EV+ to call down light here ?

your preflopsizing is way too small.
as played I think you have so many QQ/ JJ / Tx that you don't need to call down that wide when there are not a lot of natural bluffs as you said.
in other words its a fold on river?
i would see myself folding turn more often than not
true, and i would see myself cbeting that flop 100%
Your assumptions are right against this specific villain, if he is flatting A3o there and takes it all the way, it looks like he does not discriminate his hands,or chooses hands to bluff, he believes your check range is weak and unprotected and barrels anything just because he cant win otherwise.Take a note and trap him many times. In general, it is good to have more info when you want to make a play like this. Some other players might only play QJ for bluff in this spot and then your play from magnificent becomes horrible.
I c/f this flop or b/f if I think V fold too much.
But c/f mostly. Am I nitty?
c/f flop is good. CBet range is also good (preferably with a smaller sizing) since this is a very good board for our range.
When it comes to XC, let's think about that in terms of who has the better range on this board:
It is a very good flop for us, and let's assume Villain is aware of that. When we check, he should therefore not go overboard with stabbing. Our checking range is supposed to handle that rather easily, given how much strength we have (if we play with a betting and a checking range, it's not hard to find decent hands to XC).
When he is supposed to stab somewhat tight (40% or so from a range that isn't all that shabby to begin with), 99 becomes too weak to start calling down vs an unknown.
With what hands should we x/c down?
