NL 10 - getting donkbet finding myself in a bad spot making bad calls on the river

Blinds: $0.05/$0.10 (6 Players) BN: $10.00
SB: $10.00
BB: $10.00
UTG: $11.25 (Hero)
MP: $17.54
CO: $15.69
Preflop ($0.15) Hero is UTG with J J
Hero raises to $0.30, 4 folds, BB calls $0.20
Flop ($0.65) 7 4 6
BB bets $0.70, Hero calls $0.70
I think I get confused a lot when I get donkbet sometimes. Here I also didn't know really what to do. I actually didn't want to play a big pot but I also want to protect my hand on a drawheavy board like this. I think giving up is never a choice but I guess raising here would give me much more information about villains hand.
Turn ($2.05) 7 4 6 Q
BB bets $1.00, Hero calls $1.00
The Q is not great to see but I put villain here on a hand that connects way better with the flop than the turn card. It is possible he hit a flush though. On this level people tend to donkbet their flushdraws a lot but I block clubs with my Jc so I could even redraw if he has a low flush.
River ($4.05) 7 4 6 Q 7
BB bets $3.00, Hero calls $3.00
Here I only beat bluffs I think. I think if I raise the flop the hand would have been played out more logically and sound for me and I wouldn't make such a bad calldown at all. Very bad play imo but I found out that in these spots I still struggle.

Thank you for your help!
