Lot of agression on drawheavy board OP with TPTK AK. Call of the 3 barrels?

BN: $50
SB: $50.25
BB: $87.29
UTG: $84.33
HJ: $87.70
CO: $66.73 (Hero)
Preflop ($0.75) (6 Players)
Hero was dealt A K
UTG folds, HJ folds, Hero raises to $1.25, BN calls $1.25, SB folds, BB calls $0.75
Flop ($4.00) A 9 8 (3 Players)
BB checks, Hero bets $2.50, BN raises to $7.50, BB folds, Hero calls $5
I did consider 3betting the villains raise and getting all in or allot of money in on the flop but that is not really a option since we wan't to keep his bluffs and semibluffs (draws) in his range right?
Turn ($19.00) A 9 8 4 (2 Players)
Hero checks, BN bets $11, Hero calls $11
River ($41.00) A 9 8 4 3 (2 Players)
Hero checks, BN bets $30.25, and is all in, Hero calls $30.25

With so many draws (flushdraws, straightdraws) out there that the villain can choose to play agressive this is a pretty standard bluff catch spot right? Since all the draws miss i tought the river shove was a easy call. When the villain does end up having better then us two pair (A9,A8,98) or sets(99,88), is this a cooler then? Because since there was no 3betting preflop and it is a BTN call vs a CO open our villains range is pretty wide and theres a good chance he does have us already beat.

So am i thinking right about calling stuff like this of or is this a bit to spewy and should i consider that the villain shows up with a strong nutted range here on the river to much to make this profitable? thanks guys.
