LIVE $5/$10: line check to extract max value...
live 5/10 nl.
V is younger asian male who has taken weird lines. example, folded to V in SB and he limps, BB raises to 40 and V calls. flop Q96 V ch and BB bets 60 V calls. Turn Q96T and V leads 150 and BB tank folds AA face up and V shows Q7 so....
hero is a young white male no image, only been at table for 30 min.
$1000 (100bb) eff
hero opens 30 in mp with QJdd 2 callers and V calls in SB and BB calls.
flop (150): Qs Jh 5s V checks and hero bets 110 others fold and V calls.
turn (370): Qs Jh 5s Js V checks and hero bets smallish (140) and V quickly raises to 300.
in order to get max value do we just call or do we shove?

Don´t think it matters that much ... if he has a J he´s never folding to a shove, if he has a flush he´s never folding either, if he has a Q that wants to protect against a fourth spade he likely will fold, but he´ll likely give up river. If he has trips he might give up on the river if a 4th flush card hits.
I´d reraise but I wouldn´t shove but raise small ... give him some room for further mistakes.
I mean the standard must be to call since you have position with the near nuts and the pot is big enough to get stacks in on the river. Also that balances your range much better than 3 betting. Vs this particular villain we could make an explo raise but I'd still call given we only have 30min of reads on him.
just call
You have 860 back. I'd just ship it in. If the bulk of his range is Jx+ then you're much better off jamming turn as 15-20% of rivers might kill your action. If he can have some strangely played or Qx or bluff with a straight draw, then there is more of a case for flatting or minrr-ing. I don't think he's likely to show up with the latter set of hands very much at all. Think turn sizing is too small. You can make very naturally sized bets of 200-240 on turn and shove river, and I think those sizings work better for your range.
I don't like shipping it on the turn; especially because your smallish bet might have induced him to make a random spew raise. You want to let him make mistakes. Even if he has a Qx or something, he might convince himself to rep AsXx on the river if a spade falls. That being said, I don't really like betting small here. Personally I'd check and rep a much weaker hand myself and expect him to bet most rivers
x/r'ing a turn bet of 140 to 300 doesn't really seem like spew to me. He's trying to get value, most likely with JT/J9... could possible be a flush Ks9s/Ks8s type of hands, too. I would probably ship it in there, you still have AxAs/AsQx in your range that he would think he beats. ship so you get max... the riv might bring a card that he might perceive as one that beats him.
I would just call the raise here since, given his description, his bluff range should be a lot higher than most. He just sounds like a recreational player 'clicking buttons' and I don't want to shut him out of the pot when we have position and a boat if he did decide to click one of those bluffy buttons now.
I think the times he is making a random bluff play and will shove just about any river far outweigh the times he has a flush/trips and sees a river card that he decides to check/fold if we just call the checkraise.
I agree. The interesting thing to consider is how deep do we have to be until 3betting the turn becomes better.
