Live $1/$2 full ring - Super Deep - Frustration and maybe a bad call?
I would like to start off that during my poker career I have not played very much Live poker. Only a handful of times over the past few years to be honest. I have tried to make it a Goal to play more Live this year and I have been trying to go at least once a week if possible.
Today being Canada day and all my plans falling through - i decided to hit up the casino in the afternoon.
Everyone at the table seemed like your typical 1/2 player, older men playing, farmers, people drinking in it for the fun.... There was one other guy early 30's that seemed to be paying attention to all the action - playing very well and from the table talk he seemed like he was a good player and an advent learner of the Game. He was running well it seemed once i sat down.
During i noticed that he was not shy on isolating limpers, was usually opening from early with strong hands.. Seen him make some tricky/interesting plays such as check raise with TPTK, draws, slow playing... over all a solid player it seemed.
I've been playing for about 5 hours or so and been running fairly well.. Im sitting with somewhere between $800-$900 at time of this hand.
Before Cards get Dealt: Button Straddles to $5.
SB Folds
BB (advent learner/good player) Calls the Straddle.
a couple of Folds...
MP Calls..
(hero) 9(d)9(c) - I raise to $25
Everyone folds to the BB
BB calls - MP folds.
BB is very deep as well.. had roughly $1000 behind
FLOP
2(d)5(d)9(h)
BB: Check
hero: Bets $30
BB: Calls.
TURN
2(d)5(d)9(h)T(h)
BB: Checks
Hero: Bets $75
BB: raises to $275.
Hero: Calls $200
At this point im ruleing out Pocket Tens from his range as I believe he would of Open raised Pre-flop with that hand given how he has been playing.
He never has JJ+ here.
So im thinking QJ,J8,78,22,55,T9 all with Diamond or Hearts. Maybe A3,A4 but that seems pretty slim imo.
At this point Pot is a roughly $600-$650, He has roughly $800 behind and im around $600 behind.
RIVER
2(d)5(d)9(h)T(h)A(d)
BB: Shoves All-IN for roughly $800.
I am very Disgusted and hating life at this point.
Now here is what got me slightly tilted, maybe not tilted but anoyed at least.
There is $1300-$1500 roughly guessing int he pot right now including Villans bet.
I have been thinking roughly for 1Min... Minute and a half tops...
Some guy sitting 2 to my left calls out CLOCK!!!
I look over at him and was like REALLY? (He isnt in the hand and has a stack of Maybe $100).
His response was - got to get the game rollin....
So i used every second of my 1min count down from the clock and elected to Call..
BB Shows Q7 of Diamonds making a Queen High Flush
I was pretty surprised to see him have that hand there personally considering the PF betting.
I do think tho if the Clock wasn't called so aggressively I would of most likely found a Fold.
I think a Flush in that spot is the only hand that makes sense other than a set of 2 of 5's.
IDK maybe im completely wrong,
It was the Largest Cash game Pot ive ever played and felt very dissapointed in myself for making the call on the river
Thoughts on the hand?
Insight/tips for playing live?
