Live 1/1 200 deep AdKc in a 3bet pot flop 7h8d9d turn 3d: what line to take?
This game plays more like 1/2 game given the preflop raise sizes. BU covers me.
HJ: XX
BU: loose aggressive villain, frequently stabs at pots with middling hands Q3o
BB: Hero 200 AdKc
Preflop: limper Hj raises to 8, BU calls, Hero 3bets to 30, both call
Flop: pot ~ 90ish. 7h8d9d. Not a good flop for me I check and everyone checks behind
Turn: 3d. I pick up a backdoor diamond flush draw. Checked to villain, he bets 35, hero check raises all in 170, villain calls
I think villain likes to outplay me. We have a bit of a history where he calls my 3bets with fairly weak holdings. When he checks behind on that flop I thought he was def weak. With the 3d on the turn i thought he would stab if checked to, and a check raise would be preferable to leading turn, or check calling. Given the size of the pot and my stack size I decided an all in would work best. I could even be ahead if he had something like KdX or QdX. Afterwards he said he called because he didn’t think I would play a value hand like this and put me on AdX. Maybe true I would probably check call or lead turn with AA or KK with a single diamond. But I probably only bet that flop with a flush draw if I had 3bet broadway diamonds that contained a Jd or Td. So I could have some flushes when played this way, but hard to say what I would have done with AdKd or KdQd.
Anyways just wanted to get some thoughts on what the optimal line is in a spot like this on the turn in order to balance your range.
