Line check - check back or shove the river?

HJ: $238.65
CO: $286.30
BN: $276.15
SB: $224.45
BB: $206 (Hero)
UTG: $485.90
This is a rush poker hand. Villain has tag / nitty preflop stats and appears to be passive post flop.
Preflop ($3.00) (6 Players)
Hero was dealt 8 A
UTG folds, HJ folds, CO folds, BN folds, SB raises to $6, Hero calls $4
Flop ($13.00) T 7 9 (2 Players)
SB bets $8, Hero raises to $32, SB calls $24
I raise the flop to narrow his range and because it will be tough to get value if I hit my straight draw.
Turn ($77.00) T 7 9 A (2 Players)
SB checks, Hero bets $40, SB calls $40
I think I'm well ahead of his range now. I bet small to give him room to shove worse.
River ($157.00) T 7 9 A 9 (2 Players)
SB checks
This is a spot where its easy to check back thinking you won't get called by worse very often and sometimes run in to better. Should we usually be shoving instead?

I think raisesize on the flop is a bit too big and betsize on the turn to small. As played he could herocall Tx JJ maybe QQ KK. On this kind of board i think he would 3bet the flop with 77 99 TT 9Ts often. Maybe even c/shoves AT on the Turn. I would assume he gets in the nutfd on the flop too so u have the best hand 95% of the time and should shove.

Everything bricked, a bluff card came on the turn and the board paired. This means you'll be called down lighter so go ahead and shove. I believe he'll call you w/ ATo (might've jammed turn), or 9x (might've folded turn) less often then Tx, JJ-KK. Its BB-SB so you should be called down lighter too. You're just so rarely beat here, if he doesn't stack off AJcc-AKcc, that you might as well shove for that reason alone.

It looks like he has a draw here, if you were deeper, I'd bet to induce, but you have no play but to put your 125-130$ in there at this point. with the current STP ratio.

Thanks, I shoved and he called with J-10. What do you think of his call?

Its an optimistic hero call. But the straight draw and flush draw bricked. The board paired (cutting down value combos) and the A hit the turn (which is his mind should look like a bluff card that you probably don't have other than, A8o/s and AXcc). This makes your line look more bluffy, inducing him to hero call more, so I can see why he called. Still optimistic for a stack tho.

I think the A on the turn is pretty bad for him. A lot of our draws here contain the A just because of the so it actually widens our value range and our bluffs still have a reasonable amount of equity against him. Depending on our gameplan here can easily be a turn fold imo.

On our side though defo like the shove despite what I said above. Some guys just don t know and people find some pretty wtf spots to make a stand.
