Let's Discuss: NLHE General Spots
I thought it might be interesting to take some general spots that we all encounter at the tables and to create some dialogue on what you feel is the optimal play. If this structure of a thread is helpful, I'll try to do a few more in the future to spur discussion, comments, and feedback.
I'll start with three basic preflop spots. For simplicity, we'll assume these are entirely readless tables (so ZONE games on Bovada). As a result, we'd be leaning towards more GTO concepts and play than exploitative.
Many of these spots are quite basic for advanced players but I think it would be a helpful way to get the ball rolling for novice and beginners.
All games are six-handed.
1. 100bb effective: Villain opens UTG 3x and Hero is next to act.
a.) What do you do with KQo?
b.) What do you do with AJo?
c.) What do you do with KQs?
2. 100bb effective: Villain opens UTG+1 3x and it is folded to Hero in SB.
a.) What do you do with KQo?
b.) What do you do with ATs?
3. 100bb effective: Villain opens HJ 3x and Hero is in CO.
a.) What do you do with 98s?
b.) What do you do with AQo?
