Turn ($35.25) Q 8 A J (2 Players)

CO is 13/10/af4.0/3bet5.6  49 hands

BTN is an unknown with 67/33  4 hands

I was playing 22/18 with 10% 3bet over 1000 hands

I think it's a good looking flop to cbet after the squeeze.

Turn is tricky. I decided to bomb turn to make it look like I was setting up a river shove. I felt that with effective stack sizes being a little deep, he would have a hard time continuing even in position.

What do you think?

I think it would be better to just call from the blinds, as the CO is so aggressive, they could quite easily turn their hand into a 4bet, and how do you react with your KQ, which may very well be ahead? Unless you're willing to play a very high variance game, its best to just call from the blinds, and let the opponent(s) hang themselves with what very well could be weak equity.

Maybe I'm a nit after 3 betting this hand, but I would prefer to check/call the flop. You can't really say you're betting this for value with second pair, and I don't see any point in turning this hand into a bluff when you likely have good equity, both of these statements have even more worth when playing multiway, simply due to the fact that the more people there are in the pot, the more likely someone will have a hand.

As it turns out, you bet and the button calls, as you have no information on the button (dont even bother trying to assign an absolute range to someone with 4 hands), its probably best to put them on a "standard" range of reasonable aces, reasonable queens, connectors (JT, T9, KJ) etc

The turn brings a jack, and you bet out. Once again, I'm not a fan of this, the board has just got wetter, and you are putting yourself in an increasingly marginal situation. Your opponent could easily have an ace, most queens you are either now splitting against or behind, and some draws are now ahead of you. There are less hands you are ahead of than it may seem, maybe QT or Q9, but I doubt those hands would have called the flop multiway in the first place, and on top of this, even QT has some reasonable equity to suck out on you, especially if its clubbed.

This is the whole reason why I would have played the hand more passively, your hand has showdown value, but betting out will put you in some very tough situations, there is very little value you can get from the hand in this spot, so you're effectively turning this hand into a bluff in a spot where it's better utilised as a bluffcatcher.

I prefer squeezing this hand pre. My only regret is that I didn't squeeze to 12BB which was a mistake. On turn, we block his Qx value combos that beats us as well as AQ. His most likely range is something like JT/A5 and we hold the NFD blocker in which if another Clubs hits we can still shove the river as a bluff. I'd like a second opinion on this hand.

Profitability of a squeeze prob depends on how often CO will fold to it, no? I dont wanna go up against the 13/10 oop with KQ in a 3bet pot.

Flop seems like a check call. Little to no value in a cbet and we certainly cant bet 3 streets for value.

Sounds like youre going for a pretty hardcore triple barrel bluff. Seems like he is hardly ever folding to the turn bet anyway as he has at least a pair with a SD.

Agree to lang there i dont want to bluff into a random donk where id win the pot sometimes with checking it down

Pre seems fine though as the button is probly a fish so its like 4value against him

You have a 4 hand history against the button, there is absolutely no way you can assign any kind of range to someone with 4 hands. If you're considering a squeeze based on someone you have no history on then you're just gambling. It's better to look at the information you have. i.e. the cut off. They are tight and aggressive. Do you really want to play OOP in a squeezed pot against someone with a tight range and an aggression factor of 4?
