KK preflop

Blinds: $0.10/$0.25 (6 Players) BN: $77.61
SB: $26.02
BB: $49.57
UTG: $20.19
MP: $41.57
CO: $93.88 (Hero)
i dont even know what to think about this hand i think i played it poor

no info on players
Preflop ($0.35) Hero is CO with K K
2 folds, Hero raises to $0.72, BN raises to $2.25, SB raises to $5.25, BB folds, Hero calls $4.53, BN calls $3.00
with the BTN been 300BB deep i didnt wanna get all the chips in pre
my thought i was gonna 4B pre till the SB did i didnt want to 5B for the BTN to jam ( might be a mistake )
when the BTN calls im happy im a head of him
Flop ($16.00) J 9 4
SB bets $20.77 and is all in, Hero folds, BN folds
on this flop when the SB ships i thinking he has a range of JJ QQ KK AA which im 42% against but i still have the BTN to act too
i dont think he would play AK this way and with me having KK think is less likely he has that hand

I'm still 5betting pre, looking to get money in vs SB.

  • Do you think, SB stacks off with AKo in that situation if you min-5bet?
  • What size do you 5bet with?
  • What's your total range for 5-betting?
  • Are you folding vs. BTN-shove?

I like the play. 5-betting is way too strong, I would not expect any non-braindead player to come over the top with QQ or worse, so 5-betting accomplishes nothing but "making life easier".

that was along with what i was thinking

*i dont think i have any hands in my range here that are not AA and KK that would 5B
*if i do 5B i dont think i get action of anything worse that KK either
*if i do 5B yes i think i have to fold to BTN shove getting in 300bb with KK i dont think is smart over long run
*only problem i have on the flop is SB still had 80BB which if i call and BTN calls or shoves im proberly in bad shape so i think only good result is if im beating SB and BTN folds

With btn behind I d def 5b. If you are going to slowplay anything make it AA. Min 5b might be best I guess but I can t see jamming being "wrong". Having a call range seems pretty bad in this spot. Probably just rip KK+, AKs, maybe some AKo, fold everything else as cold 4b s are too strong in general at most limits. I think you ll get some guys stacking off with QQ or AK vs an all in just cause they rationalize themselves into it.

Call pre to fold any non Axx flop seems pretty awful.

Oh geez. I just noticed how we are deep with BTN. Ya just raise to price out BTN and GII with SB. don t jam :D. Well price out is the wrong way to think about it but calling and giving btn a easy continue with a lot of hands can t be correct.

I think Bingo and Bigfish both are correct and that constructed correctly both macro strategy's can be plus EV. However one could be better then the other.

maybe take both situations and contruct them both ways see what the AI thinks?

5b pre to 2x, get value from btn/deny equity and gii vs sb.
. Don't think it's wrong to fold to a 300bb jam. Vs btn after this action. Remember, he just 3b btn vs co so his range is very wide, no need to put him on AA just yet and it's shitty to have him stay in with us oop and him being so deep.

If you think you have 44% vs sb on flop you should be calling. Add in a few Jx hands and random bluffs and you're good to go. Can't fold a non A board for this price. From sb's perspective you're both capped at qq-/ak- so he might think he's good with less than you think.

I too am uncomfortable and inexperienced playing very deep. Hence, best to leave the table and reload with 100bb.

hi guys im going to share my thoughts on this hand. please tell me what you think.
first i wouldnt mind getting the money pre with sb with a 100 big. if he has aces itss a cooler what can you do ive him the money. but it cant be wrong to get it in pre with kings.
you shouldnt be too scared of btn raise because hes so deep so he would have a lot of bluffs i guess and suited connectors in his range etc
when sb 4 bets that way i put him on a range of aa,qq,jj, (kk, and ako, aks, less likely because we block those).
when he goes all in like that i like to remove jj from his range because why would he want to scare 2 players that way with the nuts instead of betting small and gives kk and aa the impression that they have the best hand.
i tend to put him more on qq and aks, but mostly qq. however i dont like his play because only better hands are calling hiss all in even though he made us fold kings on flop.
also i think here on the flop we really high on our range no? sso if we start playing kk that way and people notice that isnt that exploitative? i mean we would be folding anything but aa all the time.
