i remember thinking that i am probably behind his 4betting range here a lot of the time. i have never seen him 4bet before. however, i felt folding was terrible here, and raising didn't seem like it was the most profitable play as it allows him to fold out his weaker hands, and call his better (AA)
Flop

Hero checks,
CO bets $1.16,
CO calls $4.62
preflop, i had pretty much decided i was c/raising any reasonable flop. although this flop is not amazing, i have some equity when called. i can get AK to fold and AQ to call here, so it doesn't seem like a terrible board for my play

Don't get married to hands. If you're going to 3b KK preflop for value, you should probably be able to fold it when you're "...probably behind his 4betting range here a lot of the time."
how many hands have you played against him to be 100% sure he ONLY 4 bet AA? If he does it youre flipping against his range. Idont se a fold prefop but a raise.but i agree if you are sure just fold pre and dont try to outplay him on flop. Just look if you have odds to setmine
i don't understand what you mean by that being one of the worst flops possible. i have straight equity, and an overpair in a 4 bet pot. in this spot i am essentially bluffing when i shove over him, and i think he has to fold a good percentage of the time. the only thing i might do differently is sizing on the flop. i think c/raising smaller might actually look stronger and have more fold equity than shoving (which tends to appear more draw heavy). certainly i would be enough to commit myself to call it off.
I don't get how you can say that his villain has been so passive against you and not understand what his sudden aggression means.
