KK, 150bb vs odd 4bet

HJ: $2.38
CO: $8.01
BN: $4
SB: $6.90 (Hero)
BB: $4.38
BB is a pretty loose/aggressive reg, although plays pretty passively in big pots often
Preflop ($0.06) (5 Players)
Hero was dealt K K
HJ calls $0.04, CO raises to $0.16, BN folds, Hero raises to $0.56, BB folds, HJ folds, CO raises to $1.12, Hero calls $0.56
i remember thinking that i am probably behind his 4betting range here a lot of the time. i have never seen him 4bet before. however, i felt folding was terrible here, and raising didn't seem like it was the most profitable play as it allows him to fold out his weaker hands, and call his better (AA)
Flop ($2.50) Q T 9 (2 Players)
Hero checks, CO bets $1.16, CO calls $4.62
preflop, i had pretty much decided i was c/raising any reasonable flop. although this flop is not amazing, i have some equity when called. i can get AK to fold and AQ to call here, so it doesn't seem like a terrible board for my play
Turn ($8.28) 9 (2 Players)
River ($8.28) 3 (2 Players)
Final Pot
CO has A A Hero has K K CO wins $13.19
read through my comments on each street. what do you guys think?

Your logic is off. You claimed that you didn't raise (5b) preflop because it allowed him to fold out weaker hands and call with better hands, but then you proceeded to go against that line of thinking on one of the worst flops you could have gotten.

Don't get married to hands. If you're going to 3b KK preflop for value, you should probably be able to fold it when you're "...probably behind his 4betting range here a lot of the time."

I dont see how kk can be behind his 4 bet range
how many hands have you played against him to be 100% sure he ONLY 4 bet AA? If he does it youre flipping against his range. Idont se a fold prefop but a raise.but i agree if you are sure just fold pre and dont try to outplay him on flop. Just look if you have odds to setmine

Looks fine. Obviously we're not doing backflips about this spot but everything seems reasonable. You should be able to get called by some random pair+draw hands that he chose to 4 bet on occasion or something like AQ.

i think the thing is: i'm not crushing his 4bet range by any means, but i'm not far behind it. i think this deep, he is probably 4betting QQ+, sometimes JJ. i'm sure he has a small air range as well. i think folding KK pre is probably a mistake. it's close though against this type of villain who has proven to be passive against me bot pre and post flop.

i don't understand what you mean by that being one of the worst flops possible. i have straight equity, and an overpair in a 4 bet pot. in this spot i am essentially bluffing when i shove over him, and i think he has to fold a good percentage of the time. the only thing i might do differently is sizing on the flop. i think c/raising smaller might actually look stronger and have more fold equity than shoving (which tends to appear more draw heavy). certainly i would be enough to commit myself to call it off.

Ok, so then his 4b'ing range is JJ-AA, so when you ch/shove flop you're just praying he has JJ?

I don't get how you can say that his villain has been so passive against you and not understand what his sudden aggression means.
