Is turn still a call? 100NL 6Max Zoom

BN: $82.46
SB: $123.01 (Hero)
BB: $120.13
UTG: $114.16
HJ: $145.64
CO: $20.12
Preflop ($1.50) (6 Players)
Hero was dealt J A
UTG folds, HJ folds, CO folds, BN folds, Hero raises to $3, BB raises to $9, Hero calls $6
Flop ($19.50) A 5 4 (2 Players)
Hero checks, BB bets $11.50, Hero calls $11.50
Turn ($42.50) A 5 4 J (2 Players)
Hero checks, BB bets $19.50, Hero raises to $102.51, and is all in, BB calls $80.13, and is all in

He is 18/15/af3/3bet11  104 hands

So, he ended up having 63cc. I know he had me killed on flop but is he supposed to call my turn CRAI?

I'm just curious because I struggle in these spots myself in his shoes.

Here is a little bit of history. I played this hand below against him yesterday but it's kind of a "dumb and dumber" spot on turn.

At first glance his call looks breakeven, i'm going to run the numbers first for your exact hand:

.. so its AJ vs 6c3c 71.72 vs 28.28

and he needs.. it looks like 80/242.. which is slightly less than 33% so it is very CLOSE.

He probably would of done better to choose a sizing that either commits him or he can get away from, this turn sizing now looks dubious UNLESS he has done more work on his turn ranges and feels he is ALWAYS committed here.

I don't think i would ever bet/fold here but would size differently

Figuring out if he (or we) should call these spots is relatively straight forward, we dont have to worry about any future betting or actions because its an all in pot. So all we do is figure out what our odds are, and then give our opponent a range and see if we have the equity needed to call.

H'es risking $80.13 to win $161.63 so he needs 80.13 / (80.13 + 161.64) = 33% equity to call.

It's pretty hard to give you a range that he actually comes up with that, because even if he has his full 15 outs he just barely has the required equity (34%), but he doesnt always have all 15 outs, sometimes you have a club in your hand, or you have a set, or you have a better flush draw yourself, etc. He really needs you to be shoving some total air ball bluffs like KQ so that he also has some 6 and 3 outs.

Agreed with Daz. If he knew he didn't want to fold, he should have bet something like $28-$32, and committed himself against a raise as well as gain more fold equity.

Calling turn is best in both hands.

agree to this 1 pretty much...very lucky that he had a combodraw he could get i OTT...The Jh is decent semibluffing card, but a lot still has to fold to your raise given his betsizing but could go for a 3barrel eventually.

even though its not a bad play cause he still levels himself from time to time with something weaker (esp. weaker 2p) into a call...

And i really dont get your shove in the 2nd hand tbh? Not to mention a fold, but shoving makes no real sense to me

In the 2nd hand, I dislike his turn CR because it's so crystal clear that he has 8x in his range and I bombed it there for that very reason. I think he should just let me barrel off with something like +99. So, I know my 3bet/shove on turn is a questionable play but I meant to represent angry over pairs or semi bluffs. I felt flatting the CR might actually look stronger by river should he decide to check/probe.

So, a ton of equity against my range yet without SDV on turn is still good enough to induce a Turn CRAI? Hmmmmmm, I actually go WTF at that line because he absolutely snapped it off while I did it in 15 seconds or so.

Thanks for the comments because my first impression was to fold to the Turn CRAI given pot odds in his shoes.

I like the shove because a tight player is very value heavy here, and there are too many rivers that kill you action.

Also, this is a great hand to balance your turn combo draw shoves with.

LOL the same villain just got me good with QQ vs my AA all in pre but dang with me on UTG 4betting a little deep he showed no hesitation in the over shove....  He must be pissed or something....

may be i will x- call and jam river, but crai,is ok,his calling on turn is standard, pot odds is 32% and 15 outs about 30% odds, the only thing i want to know how offen and situation he will bet on turn? value or bluff or chasing
