Is it all about the numbers?

im just wondering on the current games nowadays is everything all about maths in poker?
i was watching the joe ingram podcast with limitless and his rise 2 the top and he said a couple times his maths was and still isnt the best, personally ive struggled with maths and numbers my entire life. is there still room for midstakes guys 2 make it in this game without having a strong math background from the get go?

Math is a big part of it, as it is in everything.

However, the landscape of poker is so complicated that you really cannot breakdown every single detail with numbers at all times. What that means is that there's a lot of room for intuitive play. And what that means is that you can in fact become good at poker even if you're not a math wizard.

That said, if you're not good at math and you're not interested in math, why are you interested in poker then? Not saying you aren't interested or good at math or that you should be, but math is a big part of becoming a good player, and the principles and strategies that work are rooted in math and logic. If math and logic is not something you naturally gravitate towards, you're probably better off doing something else with your life. That is if you consider playing poker in a serious matter (professionally). As a hobby it's a little bit different of course.
