Interesting Heads up Hand

This was played on a site which doesn't allow HEM, and also the currency is approximately 1 - 9 to the dollar.

Reads on villain are that he is quite active, aggressive, I've seen him 3bet light in 6max games, and make moves postflop. This hand happened on a 6max table that died so we were left heads up.

Start the hand 1k deep, blinds are 5/10.

Hero opens to 25 with Kh 8c, villain calls.

Flop Kd 5d 2c Villain checks, Hero bets 45, villain calls.
Turn 5c. Villain checks, hero bets 105, villain check-raises to 285. Hero calls.
River As. Villain shoves all-in for approximately a pot sized bet.

Comments on all streets welcome.

I would want more reads then dude 3 bets lite in a 6 handed game and has made a couple bluffs postflop before I made this calldown. First turn raises are enormously strong. Second one of his more likely bluffs are the NFD which got there. I give so much respect to turn c/r that I m tempted to fold this right away OTT esp as we re going to fave that river bet so often that we nearly have to plan to face it always.

Also fwiw I think this hand could be reasonable to check behind. Ya we gots TP but the 5 very much marginalized it. It pains me to give free cards but I m not going to be barreling this turn at a huge frequency and I d like some hands that can call a river bet when we check behind and this seems like a pretty great candidate for that.

i dont understand the turn bet. if the opponent is aggro and not a fish i'd prefer to check behind because if he call he have e K better then yours and fold otherwise except FD. i would like to control the pot size with this hand and maybe induce a bluff on the river by missing FD.
If you're thinking to bet for value i think you have to call because all missing FD will bluff the ace

With regards to the nut flush draw "getting there", I think he 3bets the majority of his suited aces, so I discounted them a fair amount.

Unfortunately I didn't have that many more reads on him (the pains of a site without HEM and the most impossible hand history review options). I was contemplating checking behind on the turn, and then just bluff catching most rivers as another option. I decided to bet because I feel a large part of his range was FDs, straight draws, smaller pairs. Also he had about 3k on the table, and I felt the advantages of winning a larger pot now and getting to play vs him deep were a factor to consider.

When I bet the turn, I kind of had decided then I was calling it off. I did call and he had Q9dd.

I actually have been checking behind here as a standard, but I'm experimenting with different lines. I just want to make sure its not totally terrible to bet with the plan of calling it off vs an opponent who I think is capable of running a bluff there.

Ya its not terrible if he s going to play enough combos of FD s like that and never a better Kx hand. I m curious as to how you are arriving at the conclusion that he s 3 betting Axs. Axs is usually a pretty easy and clear flat imo.

Nice hand though and good job getting the read. I still think its somewhat ambitious vs the majority of the field even if they are aggressive but perhaps I am wrong about this.
