You are pretty nutted when you call turn and all river cards will lose villains range advantage.
So he has to check river, you have your sets and some 89 to bet and you decide to bet AK with this terrible sizing for what reason when you dont even have any stats?
89 gets folded here very fast pf (for me) pretty sure that's std tho
So all I can bet is 999 888 aaa?
@ moment - we're betting AK b/c we're near the top of our range.
you're pretty obviously polarized to strong TP, which makes it pretty hard for him to justify a XR with a SD hand. reason being you're probably gonna have to start folding hands like AK for it to be good for him to turn a pair into a bluff, and that's probably not something he's interested in trying to make you do on this board, since AK is so high up in your range.
so then you'd have to believe he was going for a XR with missed draw often enough. which seems really unorthodox and unlikely considering he's got a pretty big range advantage going to the river and couldve easily applied a lot of pressure by just betting on the end if he whiffed. esp in a spot where you have a decent amount of air yourself. my guess is that villain's nutted way too often and his line of sight is "you're probably folding a weaker pair, and betting all TP and missed draw. so XR gets the most money in the pot.".
Hi Nick,
I disagree with hero having air. Villain can bet any two and hero folds most of his range OTT , floating with air would be pretty sick given range disadvantage OTT.
OTR villain checks his polarized range.
Now we bet AK and get folds from all worse and X/R from better.
Imo we bet 88,99 and 50% 89 + JT if we float that (excl. JsTs) for bluff OTR
Ax for X back imo
If villain wanted us to fold, he will just bet again. Otherwise we can just check marginals and win everytime. I think Howard refers to all the passivly played flushdraws which missed, not to mention JT, QT etc.
I was auto piloting so I kinda just was like oh better bet here
I prty much never see this line, with positional dynamics it's kinda weird
XB is really bad..
Care to elaborate how hero is near the top of his range?
What do you think hero ends up with OTR given this action?
Hero's river bet size is over half pot, it's not a light value bet, but Villain still XR the river , so I don't really think Villain bluff here, but I will not fold to unknown Villain, try to make a note later.
