Humility in poker
SB: Mihoff: $84.81
BB: Mushmellow: $70.68
BB: Mushmellow: $70.68
Being humble can make you a lot of money in heads up no limit. I've lost a lot of BI not being humble. I post this hand as a reminder to myself that I am not invincible and that every now and then, we all suck really bad at poker. Enjoy.

Mihoff raises to $1.25, Mushmellow raises to $5, Mihoff calls $4

Standard 3 bet for me.

Mushmellow bets $7,

I probably could have cbet this smaller.

Mushmellow bets $16.33,
Mihoff calls $16.33
He only folds to 1/4 of my cbets in 3bet pots over 16 instances, so I'm going to be barreling him a lot to punish this wide float range, especially when his 3bet defend range is so weak (defends 44% of his open hands vs my 3bet)

Mihoff raises to $55.98, and is all in,

RIO, I have no idea what I'm doing. Pic related.
Villain ships the pot with Js5s. I think this was actually a pivotal hand in the match for me metagame wise. He realized that he was playing against a maniacal donkey who put in 145BB, calling down with K high. Shortly after this hand, I took some stacks of my own and he just went tilt spew off for many BI. Goes to say that if he you can keep a level head in game after making big mistake, it can really pay off.

Final Pot
Anyone else have any times in which they didn't let their ego get in the way and were able to walk away from games in which they were big dogs in? I think that if we remind ourselves to stay humble, especially when we are winning, we can save a lot of money when we get outclassed by a villain and are able to throw in the towel. Also, feel free to share any hands in which you played them really poorly so it can serve as a reminder to yourself to stay humble and avoid negative EV overconfidence.
Cheers,
Mush
