How to adjust a player who almost never folds 3bets?

Hi!

The villain in question is a decent reg, not a fish. He is a player who likes to call 3bets, especially IP when he is from steal positions vs 3bet blind defenses. Im starting to open my 3bet range from the blinds (NL25 FR), expanding/balancing it with some suited connectors (JTs, 98s, etc), but this guy seems to try to steal the pot IP many times. His numbers:

He is a 19/14/6. Steals from CO, BU, SB: 14%, 43%, 30%. He only has an overall fold to 3bet of 36%, i think it is due to his fold to resteal of just 17%.

How should i approach this guy? 3bet more? call IP hands like AQ, AK? (i dont like it very much).

I think i need a plan postflop if i know this guy is giving me action everytime i 3bet him.

Thanks!

I dont play FR. But from a 6-max perspective, Villain has pretty tight stats. I would assume general population to be stealing around 70%+ in BU spots.

Since he has pretty tight PFR%, i would assume Villain to be flatting with a pretty strong hand range.

If i have to think of a likely 3-bet calling range for villain, it would be something like

{66+,ATs+,KTs+,QTs+,JTs,T9s,ATo+,KTo+,QJo}.

If Villain isnt folding much VS 3-bet, then just construct a value 3-betting range, something like

{TT+,AQs+,KQs,AQo+}, and adjust your 3-betting strategy from there, based on whether Villain becomes more tight/loose with his opening ranges.

Yeah it's tight, but its FR. Anyway his calling range is too wide compared to what i see from most regulars, i guess your proposed calling range might be accurate, he calls most broadways, connectors and medium pairs for sure.

Anyway, i dont think he is seeing me as a great 3better, im just starting to open my 3bet ranges, so he is playing 3bet pots vs anyone not just me.

Assuming the numbers are correct, I disagree with Villain having a "strong flatting range", at least from BTN. From CO, yeah, he seems very tight, but from the BTN his open is not loose, but it´s not nitty either.

You should precisely be on the lookout for BTN-steals, combined with f3b%, exactly from the BTN. If he maintains sth. around 17% f3b after BTN-steal, you should pay close attention to his postflop stats. Most likely he´s either folding too often to cbets, to 2nd / 3rd barrels or he floats too often and bets too often when checked to or he´s simply calling down too much.

Examining his postflop lines should lead you to the proper adjustment.

Remember also that the reason his Fold to 3b % is so low is not because he's calling with bad hands, it's because he's opening very tight from CO and Button. That means he has mostly good hands in his range to begin with and thus a bunch of them want to call a 3b.

Against people who call a ton of 3 bets I like depolarizing my 3 betting range. The value of flopping top pair weak kicker goes up and we don't need to worry as much about being dominated as they'll often be flopping second pair type hands.
