I'm in the fortunate position where I no longer play poker for a living, so I don't really care about the money and I just aim to play the best poker I can. Once I start to play a bit spewy — making bad calls and getting annoyed with myself — then I try to stop. Easier said than done, however!

I think the best thing to do is avoid checking your PT/HEM/balance when playing and only do it every so often if you feel you play differently when up or down a certain number of buyins.

I try to think about poker or watch a video and play one session a few times a week to keep me sharp for the local live tournament scene. I played for a living when at university and for a while afterwards and always struggled to put in massive volume and a tonne of sessions. I like the balance I have now.
