How bad is this bluff from ooP? (NL25)
SB: $31.76
BB: $11.98
CO: $34.08 (Hero)
BN: $30.23
BB: $11.98
CO: $34.08 (Hero)
BN: $30.23
BTN 16/14 over 50 hands, seems to be of the cautious type. Skipped a thinnish value bet earlier.
My own image is quite laggy at this point (which I seem to ignore in this hand).

Preflop

Hero was dealt

Hero raises to $0.75, BN calls $0.75, SB folds, BB calls $0.50

BB checks,
Hero checks,
BN bets $1.20,
BB folds,
Hero raises to $2.80,
BN calls $1.60
Should cbet here I guess, but decide to x/r the iP-stabber and represent a set or draw, very rarely 2nd pair.
Turn

Hero checks,
BN checks
A good card for my story appears and I check to pretend I want to trap. (I guess this is too fancy though?)
River

(2 Players)
Hero bets $6.70,
BN calls $6.70
At this point I am pretty sure he has a 10 and decide to go for it. He actually does tank quite a bit before he calls. Anyway, I have a feeling this was not a very good attempt to bluff although it might have worked had the river not been a 9. Any feedback on what would have made it better? Leading the turn? Not going for it in the first place unless I had more backdoors?
Final Pot
Hero has
A
3
BN has
9
T
BN
wins $20.39

I would just give up on this flop. There are certainly better hands to cbet on this board and hands that got more eq and like "more clean" outs. This hand will just be a living hell to cbet 3 way oop imo.
Thanks, I like it.
I don't like your choice of hand for a c/r, as it makes you c/r with a seemingly high frequency. A better choice, i.e. Ah3h, also increases your equity when called, thus increasing your overall payoff of the c/r and consequently your winrate.
The problem with your idea of playing the trap-bluff-game is that the 5c on the turn decreases the combinations of value c/r's in your flop c/r-range, hence leaning your overall range more towards bluffs than value.
I agree with c/f flop btw.

Firstly I agree with the Ch/f flop line as mentioned above. But, something a (better) player said to me. 'If you're going to tell a story, make sure it's one the other guy can understand.' I imagine many players have said much the same thing. Ergo, Goldilocks and not Alice in Wonderland at NL25.
I'm just wondering what story you tell/line hero takes with our actual value range on the turn and river. I think I've done the same thing you did here a few times and not realized that I'm out of my element and my story doesn't check out. Do many players go for double check raise lines for value at the micros? I don't think you see it that often. And i think it's cos we can't expect villains to bet when we check to them on the turn after we ch/r flop. That's borderline esoteric for micro stakes and we'd require a good read to take this line. (Sorry for taking things beyond the actual hand.)
Firstly I think this hand is too weak to go for a bigger bluff OTF. If you want to bluff Id prefer it being a cbet.
Secondly when you deduce that villain is most likely holding a TP type of hand then it's really not a good spot to bluff when you can't represent a wide range. Basically it's a scenario where you think he's holding a strong SDV hand and you don't represent pretty much anything making it a pretty easy bluff-catching spot for him.
I'd like this a lot more if it was heads up cause you could check a lot of stronger hands heads up. However 3way it seems like a disaster to have the flop check through when you hold 44/55 so you'd want to bet them yourself right? I think you could check raise with AA though that might be overrepping your hand a bit.
