Do we have any reads on Villain?
I guess the turn call is already kind of close vs a lot of players in the pool. But therefore we have kind of a whide range OTF, i guess calling can be fine (but very close though)
But why do you think about calling the river? Nearly any draw came in and we dont block any spades or AX.
I also would estimate that this spot is heavilly underbluffed and we are also at the bottom of our range. So i guess this is at least OTR a fold.
Pre is standard. Flop is standard. Turn is a call as long as he finds overcars bluffs like KQ and JT. River is an easy fold.
Agree
Turn seems kind of standard. My reasoning to already consider a fold here is the fact, that this board hits a 4b-bluffingrange kind of. But folding turn might still be too nitty.
Thankyou,
I was hesitant to post this one because it did feel like a massive punt on the river. I was pretty confident in all the actions leading up to river and I don't think I've ever stationed off for double starting with TTs.
My timebank had 5s on turn that I used up and zero on river? I've never had this issue on stars before but my QUICK thinking on river was that I was going to be shown AA/KK and Broadways that barrel; some of which making flushes most not.
But in reality I just don't think players are playing this aggressively to merit this kind of call down; hand is vs someone with high vpip/3bet and AF but I agree that river is a fold.
Was called a nit yesterday so wanted to check in that I am not just someone who over folds a potential standard call river,
Cheers thanks again RaoulFlush and zinom1
Yes, i think it's a river fold. Maybe even turn?
Am i crazy here or are you kind of deciding river calling range on the turn decision? Not a lot of turns that help you so I'd want to know what hands you plan to call vs. fold on river (in general, not this hand). If you fold most hands other than T on river, aren't you calling the turn just hoping to see a river check-down and therefore bleeding with the turn call (assuming villain shoves wide, which feels somewhat likely given all action and sizing so far).
I think assuming villains are betting and not giving up on river all the time is a dangerous way of thinking; Like if every time you had a close call but folded because "well they will just pressure me on later streets so may as well give up now" I think thats giving villains too much credit too often; make them play tough and aggressive. That being said I am still not sold on THIS particular turn call.
Hey Scoop,
Good point about the binary thinking. I agree that we should avoid this, and this isn't what I'd suggest.
My point was that in this particular spot we'll face a river bet so often here that it makes sense to decide ott what we'd do vs. a shove on a bricked board.
