Hero Call or Classic Blunder?

Villain is a very aggressive fishy player who has bluffed with zero equity hands on the River and shoved with Show Down Value hands at all junctures. Still, I think there are good arguments for folding here. Although calling turned out to be a mistake, I am not sure it wasn’t the right move, especially given the player type and the blocking effect of the eights in my hand. Happy, however, to be ridiculed in public for my decision if called for.

Hero (BB): 118.6 bb, 8s8d
Villain MP+1: 100 bb

Pre Flop: UTG f, UTG+1 open limps 1 BB, MP f, MP+1 calls 1 bb, CO f, BTN calls 1 bb, SB calls 0.6 bb, Hero BB checks
Flop: [5 bb, 5 players]: 6c5c4d
SB checks, Hero checks, UTG+1 checks, Villain MP+1 bets 4.8 bb, BTN f, SB fold, Hero calls 4.8 bb, UTG+1 f
Turn: [14.6 bb, 2 players]: 7d
Hero checks, Villain MP+1 bets 14 bb, Hero raises to 28 bb, MP+1raises to 94.2 BB and is all-in, Hero calls 66.2 BB
River: [203 bb, 2 players] 5d
Villain MP+1 shows 9s8c: (Straight, Nine High)
Villain MP+1 wins 193 BB
