help for a new player!!!

*** MOD: Moved to Low Stakes [2013-11-26 17:05 CET] ***

Hi everyone, I'm very new to the online poker. I've been playing live poker full time for the past 2 years. I usually play anything from 2-5 to 15/30 live. After recent huge downswing, I made a career changing decision. I want to take a year off grinding live and get into online. Doing this I hope to improve my skill, especially my fundamentals. I am also hoping to pick up some good habits such as br management and such through this experience. At last, although I know this probably a terrible timing to get into online, but I want to see if I can make it in the online world. I have the passion, the drive. Now all I need is some help from the fellow grinders. Any tips and advices would be appreciated. I am currently playing 50nl 6max, and planning to do so for at lease the next couple months. Please fell free to leave any helpful advises. and if you are a person who doesn't mind helping out you can also add me on skype. Thank you all.

btw I have one problem right now... how do I look at hands I played from past sessions on poker tracker 4? I am only able to see hands played today.

Hello

first of all get rid of PT4 and get HM2

how many tables are u planning on playing at once and at what site?

I hate to sound patronizing but 50nl Regs will be much better then almost all live players.

i would advise you to play 25NL for at least a month just to get used to playing online and you will be facing a much easier player pool that is far less aggressive.

If you still do decide that you want to play 50nl then you should definitely play tight as pre flop aggression is high on 50nl tables and you may feel that your getting shoved around if your playing 22%+ of your hands.

are you a complete rookie to online poker or have you played before?

im only playing 2 tables currently on stars. I totally understand that even very small stake online players are way better than most live players. but i find that im comfortable playing 50nl. players seems very weak in general. haven't really had any problem.

and yes im a complete rookie to online poker lol

I suggest you set up properly, if you're going to grind online full time. Maybe not a new laptop if yours works fine, but a monitor or two, a mouse to help you click away faster, and a comfortable chair. I find there's nothing more tilting than having to play using my laptop's touchpad, so I always have a wireless mouse with me.

After that, just grind away, and post hands when you're not sure about your play! Welcome to RIO!

I think it's better to start with 4 25nl tables than 2 of 50nl, hand volume is the most important fact of online poker.

As personal tips, get a complete hud for pt4 and learn it, and start using hotkeys for fold, bet call, will make your multitabling easier
