Heads up 50NL AK strat
Hi new to HU cash
My current strategy for playing AKs (100BB) in position is to 4 bet jam over a 3bet. Is this too loose? I nearly always seem to run into AA or KK
Admittedly I only have a small sample size but I am curious as to what other strategy's people have. I flat AKo.
OOP I am currently 3bet calling AKs and AKo
Cheers

Don't think having a 4bet jam range is optimal. Id have a 4bet strategy 2.25x-2.5x the 3bet size. With my bluffs I give myself a good price, And with value I get action.
When you just 4B jam AK, its not weird to only run into a very strong range.
Are you 4bet calling a jam with AK? I know theoretically that that keeps in a villains 5bet jam bluffs but are any of the 50nl zoom population doing this?
You get direct odds to call a shove with AKo when you 4bet, assuming villains shoving range is as tight as QQ+ and AK. You seem to be concerned that you'll be up againts KK+ too often, but I don't think we can assume a range that tight. There will be some people who will shove really tight, but then there are others who include stuff like JJ/TT/AQs, perhaps even some occasional bluffs like 55/A5s, so that should even out the playing field.
You can play around with equilab or some other equity calculator and see what kind of equity you have againts a set of reasonable 5bet shoving ranges.
4bet AK always heads-up, no need for jamming tho, 2,5x or so should be fine. And always get it in too.
Appreciate the advice. Thanks
