Getting a little Frustrated

Hello everyone. I was playing 25nl regularly on stars for a while but recently left there (long story) and decided to make the change over to Full Tilt. love the software and a less traffic i don't mind. Now I seen a team pro member from stars named xflixx do a grinding up challenge in the micro stakes. Since I have never really done any real poker challenge for myself besides hitting the next star level i decided i would give it a shot. I started with a $80 bank roll and started at 2nl 4 tabling. When first starting off i was doing alright. got it rolled up to $120 in just over 1 day of grinding then hit a string of bad luck and built it back up to $200. using a 40bi rule(from the challenge) I jumped to 5nl. But im getting frustrated. I feel like I'm getting bluffed allot but still cant call there bet. have ran into some unfortunate coolers and nothing but a string of bad luck.

IDk if its me and my game? Anyone get through these micro stakes before or do a challenge similar to this? Im noticing allot of short stackers and have a tough time playing marginal holdings against them.

One scenario i keep running into over and over is say If villain raises from MP and i call from the button. Villain makes a pot sized bet and all i got is a gut-shot or a FD or maybe 2 overs. I have a hard time knowing how to continue.

And also at these stakes should I be playing real tight in the blinds and not worry about defending blinds unless with premium holdings or should I practice on defending blinds more liberally?

For me the only way to beat the Micro's was to just play tight and bet for value. When you try to over think situations in the micro's it's a recipe for disaster because you have to remember that most of them aren't thinking. Play good ABC and bet for value and you should be building that roll in no time.

I'm playing NL10 at FullTill. Try to get some reads on the players you encounter, but just play for value and don't try to bluff. If you want to make some calls like that, just wait to see with what cards they are potting the flop, and then play accordingly.

GL!
