We were playing full ring 9max which happens to run pretty passively. Positions are late and opponent was regular. That's why I was loving my hand after my small 5bet but he clicks it back and we have little bit more than 50bb more to play. After that I wasn't loving my hand. I was hoping he is just being super tricky with AK hoping more fold equity or so representing AA.

This is not meant to be bad beat posting or in this case, cooler. What I was thinking after hand is that is it just possible to call and actually FOLD on ace flops? There might be some upsides in calling but most of them I can't see against regular who is not probably spewing random hand here and recognizes my call to be super strong too.
This might sounds ridiculous to someone but this is actually what I was thinking back in the days when I started poker!

So, can you see any reason just stop aggression here and try to find hero fold on some flops when opponent's show moar aggression (maybe like 10% of them)?

For 100bb there's not really any need to try to not get stacked. If you were say 160bb deep or something and the guy was a nit you could consider flatting the 4 bet and playing a pot as that way you keep any bluffing range that he may have in the pot. Also, I'd either call the 4 bet or jam because I doubt you have any kind of balanced min 5 betting range.

The thing with your proposed plan to call and fold Ahigh flops is that it's possible to be folding the best hand which could outweigh any value gained by employing this strategy. Also you might call and flop 789 and get a check-fold from AK. Both of these are pretty disastrous and thus I'd just be getting in 100bb pre pretty happily.
