I have been playing cash games for 3 months now and managed to get +25 BI's up top, but I feel that I still have so much to learn.

On this hand I thought it would be a good idea to keep calling, making him bluff his flush draws and get value from his top pair top kicker or overpairs, but then when the river came I decided to donk shove and it turned to be bad.

So, I want to know better ways to play this hand, as I feel I played it horribly and could do better (even if I won).

Can you guys help?

Thanks!

Raise pre; people who limp aren't good players so you want to isolate them heads up. Your general plan of action would be to then cbet dry boards, x/fold really bad boards (overs with FDs type thing) and to x/call boards that arn't so bad like 247r , 853r ect....

As played you should check raise the flop... You do get him to keep bluffing with FDs but he would sill call a bet there.. When you x/call the flop it opens the door for him to take a free river card (by checking back the turn) You want to take the initiative here for multiple reasons ( 1. to build the pot and get value from worse (before he improves or before a scare card falls that will stop him from paying you off Ex. FD card falls when he has any pair) 2. so that you can bet the turn. x/call the flop and randomly leading blank turns seems weird and you can't get the money in like that 3. you want to x/raise here as a bluff here sometimes too so this is an amazing hand to put into your value raising range.

Is it fine to ISO with pocket 6's without position vs low fold equity (considering its 2nl)? My thought process on limping behind was that we don't really have that much Frequent Strength and our position sucks to the limper.

I like the x/raise option on the flop, tbh I almost did it. How much would be nice to raise to with a set on this board when he bets 7bb on 15bb flop?

Thanks for the reply and good luck at the tables!

I'd go 3-4x or around that. Sets you up to get all the money in and you have a decent amount of obvious bluffs there.
Pre-flop I think calling is ok, 66 is a multi way hand and you don't SPR to be low with it against sticky players. On the other hand by letting BB come around free you do let go of a decent amount of equity, but at those stakes you can just play 66 for the "implied odds" with better results than a more optimal strategy. While we normally want to isolate recs, I think we can just call with more implied odds hands that make nutted disguised hands at 2nl and no one will notice that we seem to only call with those hands and raise with more standard strong hands.

I guess the question here is why did you decide to shove river there, what did you expect to get called by that you beat? Were you kinda expecting him to call with pairs figuring you had a flush draw that missed?

I was expecting ATs of spades, QJs of spades, KQs of spades, AQ, kings and aces, which we beat. And TT, QQ, JJ, T9s, AKo, which we get beaten.

You're planning your hands which is awesome, but your plan is not the best one. Think about who you're trying to target here. It isn't bluffs. It's big draws, overpairs, two pairs and TPGK. The people who are going to pay in stackzzzz.

With that in mind we're trying to get as much money in as possible before the board turns sour. There needs to be a check raise in here somewhere and it can be on the flop or the turn. The looser and more straightforward the opponents, the more benefit to doing it sooner.

I think we should check-raise, bet, bet.

As played, river is a check call.

How about this? By having position on a large pot and hitting the top set I was between betting 1/3 and 1/2 pot after the OR checked after 3betting.

Should I go for 1/3 or is 1/2 fine?

Also, is calling pre fine? Since we had 2 callers on the 3bet (imagining a capped range on both) and we had already committed 3bb I thought calling 10bb was good enough to see a flop and try to hit that set.

I would defintly 3bet this pre. JJ is not a hand that we want to play vs several opponents.
As played: We rarely bet thin for value nor do we bluff too light 4ways. So given the fact that we block TP its tempting to go for 1/3 only.
But given the fact that we are betting a pretty polarized range here, i would go for at least 1/2.
The situation might also get a bit akward OTT if all players come a long OTT.
By betting bigger OTF you already announce that you will play for stacks vs SB/BB and so UTG shouldnt float too light.
