I think your betsizings on flop/turn are defenitely too low and you are loosing a lot of value.
On river i dont know. Like...I almost never see donk-overbet on river from villain on these stakes so i dont think its a spot where we should challange ourselfs into deep analysis. On one side you are underreping your hand with your sizing so he may think your range is capped but on the other side, just like i said, ppl on these stakes just dont tend to play that way so i think he just hit his value.
i dont do these small sizings often but here having A of clubs aswell just wanted to induce him cause people really like to raise small bets thinking its always sign of weakness on these drawy boards, on the turn didnt put him on any draws since he didnt raise so didnt want to chase 9x or Tx hands i dont think he has many Ax floats since he cant have A of clubs, and when he calls with a T or 9 and board bricks, he will never fold to any polarazing big bet because it just wouldnt make any sense in his mind, so i dont mind taking these weird bet lines sometimes./// Now that i think about it i feel that he could be able to turn 8J or 87 into a bluff, and that overbet looks so fishy, and he should be raising QJ on the flop most often, i probably shouldve called here
I think most of 20nl player pool are too passive to make these assumptions. Would make your adjustments only following stats/reads.
QJ is very possible. Some players might even value jam worse like A8 here.
You are saying he x/c the flop with A8 without the Ac? I wouldn't count on that
Remember this the micros - anything is possible :D
He is very polarized here...its either a missed flush draw or the nuts. I don't think he value bets worse, because that means that he has been doing some pretty light calls OOP, and also we show strenght by barreling the A turn. Since you block lots of his bluff combos and don't block value combos, I would fold.
I'd just muck it. I doubt there's enough players at these stakes capable of bluffing here, and if he has worse hands for value, he wouldn't go for an ovb i think.
well played sir! How is this the top of your range btw? There are 16 combos of QJ, 16 combos each of every other gutter. You may not have all of them but you sure got some (typical the ones with a flushdraw I guess)
I just looked through my database for the month (then the year, since this is so rare) and I was surprised that I made tons of money calling river donk bets in general. I've won over 60% of them, in fact. Admittedly, few of them were overbets, but I ran into exactly this situation yesterday and I folded TPTK (as I think you should) and villain showed a missed gutter. In the hands I've seen a showdown, most of the time the donk bet on the river was a missed draw or some weak TP that got counterfeited on the river by a higher card. So, yeah. Here, I think it's a toss up - one straight draw hit, but all the fd's missed. And 98 might do this, too. Some weaker players think 'my hand didn't show up, I have nothing, so I only win if I bet.'
Take a look at your database and see what your player pool is doing. But I think calling is certainly an option.
Of course, you might get shown trips, too. Guys sometime spaz bet when their strong hand is made weaker by a draw completing on the river.
Yea I agree, when i though a little bit more about it if hes capable of this crazy overbet he is probably raising most of the time QJ on the flop, and theres also KJ,KQ,J8,87, random FD that he could have. And i didnt have any hands on him so its probably means hes somekind of a fish not a reg, and also acted very quick so probably playing one table , plus my weak sizings might have also given him confidence that i couldnt have anything strong here, so I think i cant fold top two here.
