Me 23/20/af2.0/3bet9.4 3bet vs Steal SB 22 BB 15   742 hands

Him 15/13/af3.0/3bet7.7 BTN Steal 25 F3B 0  39 hands

I didn't think that he would raise a boat on turn so I decided to make the call for supposedly live outs.

Thoughts?

First off I notice you always post what stats you are playing, your stats are irrelevant here, if you have 39 hands on villain he probably has the same (or none if recreational) on you. So if you are always taking your stats into consideration in hands you are likely making a mistake.

For the hand I wouldn't 3bet this as a standard without reads that he folds too much to 3b.

After that I think you played it ok. Him raising the turn is pretty weird and getting 4-1 OTT either option is probably ok. If you think you could profitably shove club rivers then it's likely calling is better than folding.

Check/calling turn is another option. He should give you a free card with his PP hands, and you have showdown value vs a lot of his clubs that bluff.

you wanna explain the 3-bet? i'm not a fan, but if you're gonna do it then surely make it bigger?

not really sure what the best turn line is really. hand gets really weird when he raises. i don't really know what range to give him, but cba to get into it.

i guess i think betting is ok coz i don't expect people to raise their Ax

then i guess we fold river, but i'd love to have a bit of info on his line

It could be a weak Ace thinking he is ahead of my range such as KK to TT or some kind of draws so he feels compelled to raise but this is a totally reasonable line for someone who plays a very tight style.

I'm not happy continuing OTT versus the raise, some of your flush draw outs are discounted and you could be drawing dead. I can see villain raising 33 66 here to get it in versus your Ax

I'm glad you mentioned that because yeah, I think I missed that about him thinking I could have an Ace in which case I am drawing dead. That's something I actually try to avoid while playing poker online. Thanks!!

Why do you take a weak hand to 3-bet someone with a tight/strong range who hasn't folded to a 3-bet yet?
I'd only do it against someone who way overfolds, or plays very poorly post-flop.
And make it 3.5-4 bucks next time, OOP vs a min-raise.

Flop is marginal, but okay because of the BDFD.
Turn is more marginal, but I guess you need some semi-bluffs, if you're barreling good Aces.
Once you get raised, you can't call. Villian has an Ace almost every time, and you won't know it when he pairs his kicker and boats up, if he hasn't done so already.

Yeah, 3bet pre here is negative EV. Why did I do it here? I probably wasn't looking at his F3B or I made a mistake looking at the blank in his F3B spot.
