Defend 65s here? $0.50/$1.00 NLH 6-max
HJ - $100.00 - 0/0 over 4 hands
Btn - $77.54 - 25/25 over 4 hands
BB - $100.00 - Hero - 6h5h
Preflop:
HJ raises to $3.00, Btn calls $3.00, Hero?
Should Hero defend here? I normally always just fold, but want to see what you guys think? If I flop a pair of 6's or 5's, most of both villains ranges have 2 overcards in them. I'm OOP vs both players. Also, not going to get paid off as much when I do hit being OOP.
On the flip side, I'm getting a price of $2.00 to win $7.50. ($2.00/$9.50) = 1/4.5 = 22%. This technically means I need more than 22% equity to continue, poker stoving it, I have around 27% equity (Assuming HJ is opening 18% and btn caller is calling 14%). Does this mean I can call? Or does being OOP and the fact that it will be harder to capitalize on your equity mean it is a fold? Example. Board comes Ts9c2c. Villain c-bets AsKs. You fold your 6 outer, so your technically folding equity that you could have capitalized on.
