Default Ranges
OK - So I have switched over to an anonymous site and since I play short sessions, I don't worry too much about being exploited in some ways. But I am trying to develop some good, solid, hard to play against pre-flop ranges. I feel pretty good about my opening ranges but am having a little trouble with the vs open ranges and thought I would ask RIO. Maybe just some frequencies to "aim" for by position along with general advice on how you guys structure your ranges. I know this is asking a lot and will understand if I don't get much in the way of responses by I'd thought I would try.
Here is the 3b frequencies I am starting with:
Vs UTG: MP:3%, CO: 3.5%, BTN:5%, SB:3%, BB: 4%
Vs MP: CO: 4.5%, BTN: 7%, SB: 4% BB:5.5%
Vs CO: BTN: 11.5%, SB:8%, BB:10.5%
Vs BTN: SB:14%, BB: 18%
Vs SB: BB: 18%
OK - So previously I had made my 3b and flatting ranges very dynamic and villain dependent as I played in a relatively small player pool and was able to get a pretty good feel for how everyone plays. Now I play roughly 30-45 minute sessions w/ complete unknowns, so I figure it is worth my time to build good ranges for these common pre-flop spots. I have been working (a couple lessons) w/ Nick Howard and he gave me a couple suggestions off the top of his head for 3b frequencies (MPvUTG, COvMP, BTNvCO, and BBvBTN all listed above) and then I tried to move from there. But I would like to get some more opinions from the RunItOnce community - (I have looked at the Snowie ranges and IDK if I like them and I certainly don't trust them). I have no idea about flatting frequencies at all and just kind of fill in the blanks after filling out my 3b range.
As far as 3b ranges go: polarized? depolarized? - I tend to have at least a small flatting range in most positions vs most positions so I generally 3b polarized - is that the right idea? 3b SC's? Broadways?
Again any help would be greatly appreciated. (I feel kind of bad about even asking for this kind of help, feels like I should just figure it out myself maybe).
