Dealing with Domination Issues in 3-Bet Pots (Live)
I'm running into issues of value owning myself when I 3b AQ/KQ type hands and run into AK that flats and we both flop top pair. The dilemma I'm facing is that while these two hands are usually good enough to 3b vs the opener range (especially when the opener is OTB or late position) - once they get called by a typical low-mid stakes player, AK dominates them. Sure they will call with pocket pairs but for most AK is probably the only non-pair hand they will often flat with.
I know that the solution is pot control (or is it?). So I guess what I'm asking are what lines to take for pot control when flopping TP with these hands. I know some people like specifics so here's a typical example:
$1000 eff. Tight recreational button opens to $20, I 3b to $80 with K♠ Q♣ from BB, he flats.
Flop: K94r Pot $162
How do we pot control on all streets?
