Biggest rake at Live poker

Has got to be the beer girls accepting chips? and tipping dealer w/ chips, and getting food w/ chips?  The first one is by far the worst, as many of the people who continually drink are the ones we can get money from.  They end up drinking 3-4 beers/hour (total at the table) which takes an extra 20-30 bucks off of the table every hour.  Would love to see a dealer tip system that did not involve chips, and everyone have to pay cash to the beverage lady.j

It should also make them lose their stack faster so they have to rebuy faster. It does not directly hurt your EV, no money from the pots that you win goes directly to beer girls.

ha, nono you misunderstand.  I appreciate the service and always tip.  Its more like that everyone always tips in chips, and pays for drinks w/ chips (out of their stack).  It ends up being alot of money by the end of the night, that does not go to players, but instead to employees.  Im all for tipping, just wish everyone did it w/ cash not chips that are in play.

That I agree with, players should never take money of the table!

Casino where I play we buy food/beverages with comp $, so it's never rally a prob.

Sorry for jumping down your throat.  :-)

Obvious consideration to "ppl making a living". I often wonder this too. I see ppl tip upwards of 5$ at times and just cringe at the pot size(<50$). Anybody have a sensible tipping system at 2/2 live and 2/5 live? Just consistent/ fair to house/fair to player?

Obviously, the tippers care very little about money being taken off the table. And neither will the casino have any incentive to ban chips as payment for their waiters.

The only chance you have is expressing your concern when you see players paying and tipper waiters with chips. But I wouldn't expect much sympathy.

The effect of decreasing average stack sizes is already nullified by players doubling up and reloading over time.
