Biggest Leaks
I was just doing year-end review on PT4, tracking a bunch of different metrics and was shocked at how low my win rate is when calling a raise. I don't do it very much thankfully, but will work hard to do it even less. It's weird because my Big Blind and Small Blind win rates, although negative, are really good relatively. I have been experimenting with a default 3bet or fold strategy from anywhere but the blinds. I don't think it should be a hard and fast rule. But it's an interesting baseline. Usually, when I call instead, it's for exploitative reasons: wanting to keep a range wide or a weak player in the hand. Perhaps the cognitive disconnect is that when pool raises instead of limps in, it's generally with an extremely strong hand. But then V shows up with J5o which called my 3bet OOP, so who knows?
