This is not a donk bet. And its the only play viable imo.
Yes what Saulo wrote seems correct.
Did you misread the hand or did you mix up hand history?
How are your results set mining BU/CO against regulars opening from EP/MP?
I'm asking because I recently ran a filter on my DB where I only included hands with which I flatted small pocket pairs 22-77 in position against UTG and MP open raises. The players I included in my filter were only regulars, and my results were very disheartening over a decent sample cutting hard into my profits. I also noticed a trend of me getting "coolered" quite often in those spots.
For me 77-66 are almost break-even. 22's win rate is surprisingly positive but I think that's only because I managed to hit quads in a massive multi way pot once and happened to cooler a bunch of guys. On the other hand cold calling 33, 44 and 55 have all been -EV for me so far.
Because of that I stopped set-mining 22-66 altogether for a while now, and unless I have specific notes/colorcode that 1. villain is a station or 2. villain is bad aggressive I just fold preflop.
I am still working on a decent sample to see if that changes anything significant long-term, but I noticed a positive trend so far, and my overall results have improved but that can of course just be variance. Or maybe I'm just a donk who's bad at extracting value when ahead or has trouble letting go when behind with those hands. Who knows heh ;)
about setmining, idk, u definitely made valid points , but i dont think it will be so terrible over endless sample..
I fold preflop, but as played flop bet seem fine.
CCing UTG is suspect, is it ok if you set set on flop
WP bb sizing means you can call the 3bet pretty easily here, calling 33 vs utg is close though.
