Fairly wet board, hits caller very well and any range advantage we had preflop is basically neutral now. Equity is even, Nut advantage is even. So I'd be checking a lot, and when I do bet I'd be betting polarized.
JJs I think (especially with a heart) is one of those hands that wants to be betting. It's a vulnerable pair, and it does have a gutshot for extra equity.
Villain's min-raise is regretful but have to call?

any 8 makes a straight now, villain could be shoving wide with his range knowing that I don't have many 8s in my range. I think I decided to fold because my combo specifically has the worst blockers. They basically block all of his bluffing range (JT, heart draws, diamond draws).
What do others think is the best line here?

Solid thinking. Seems good.
Just curious and am unsure right now. But I think when we have a backdoor flushdraw in our pocket pair we have less incentive to bet. Because it's less likely we will be outdrawn when we have that. That's the one part in your logic I would disagree with.
lIlCitanul is correct. Over pairs with a heart are more likely to check back then ones without a heart. However, I think JJ can easily get all in on the flop still. 86s and J8s likely fold to 3 bet preflop. Basically leaving sets and T9s hands in terms of value. I also think a lot of Tx hands can be over played here as villains want to protect their hand. I am more likely to shove JJ here then QQ, given we have more outs to draw to if we are behind. Would treat more QQ+ no heart as shoves and hope we are flipping or we are ahead. This was shown in Dr.Luck video where he held QQ on a similar board. Then QQ with a heart I would likely just call down, but I like folding on the turn on this run out. 2-5, K, 7, or 9, then I stack off.
