Bad call or bad luck...

Blinds: $0.01/$0.02 (6 Players) BN: $1.99
SB: $2.88
BB: $2.14
UTG: $2.11 (Hero)
MP: $1.59
CO: $6.63
Preflop ($0.03) Hero is UTG with 9 9
Hero raises to $0.06, 3 folds, SB calls $0.05, BB calls $0.04
Flop ($0.18) A 7 A
SB checks, BB checks, Hero bets $0.06, SB calls $0.06, BB folds
Turn ($0.30) A 7 A A
SB checks, Hero checks
River ($0.30) A 7 A A 4
SB bets $0.20, Hero raises to $0.70, SB raises to $2.76 and is all in, Hero calls $1.29 and is all in
Final Pot SB wins and shows four of a kind, Aces.
UTG lost and shows a full house, Aces full of Nines.
SB wins $4.13
Rake is $0.15

At turn I got a plan to check, let him bet river on a blank with his pocket pair and I raise him for some thin value and then... this happens. I didn't really care he had quads I would make that call any day right? I am only loosing to TT which again I don't believe he has much of but maybe I am wrong and I could find a fold although it seems like a mistake to be honest.

Many players do this mistake.
When there are 3 same cards on the board they think its almost impossible that someone can have Quads.
But that is not truth.especially when that card is J or higher.
It is way easier to have Quads on these spots than to have any set on 5839 for example, there are gonna be 12 sets there, 3 of each combo 55 88 33 99
Why is that happening? Its because the Ace can make combos with many other cards,So when three Aces are down, there are gonna be 4xAK left, and 4x AQ 4x AJ etc for any Ax.
In these stakes people love the Aces and some fish play them very often thinking that any A is a strong hand.
So you can see that is not that impossible or rare
On the other hand what is rare here, is for villain to be bluffing(with the river check raise),or to be trying to get value with PP vs you, you are on the button and you can have an insane amount of Aces, down to A2, and you can have the full houses from TT-KK(if you bet them on the flop which i do not advice you to do on this situation, especially the QQ-KK).
So villain is unlikely to try something here or to even call you down with something worse than 99.
Your hand is a bluff catcher on the River. And you have to decide if villain will bluff enough after having called the flop, combined with betting worse for value, like 88.
So just raise with Quads and bluff catch by calling with other full houses.
When he jams all in after your raise, he just has the A himself. He shows you that he is not afraid of the Quads that you represent when you raise him.

Yeah but the fact that 3 aces couldn't be on hands make the combos of aces he can have much less (ATo from 16 its 4,. Let alone that somebody could have folded the last one. But yeah what are they continuing with on this board either A or Pocket Pairs/Sets. I wouldn't do that against a reg but don't you think a recreational can go crazy with something worse going by this same logic of "Ooo I don't believe you, you can't have the holy 4th ACE!!!"? :P
