bad bluff?

Blinds: $0.05/$0.10 (6 Players) BN: $15.98
SB: $28.01
BB: $10.00 (Hero)
UTG: $12.83
MP: $10.60
CO: $30.38
Preflop ($0.15) Hero is BB with Q 4
2 folds, CO raises to $0.25, 2 folds, Hero calls $0.15
Flop ($0.55) J 9 2
Hero checks, CO bets $0.29, Hero calls $0.29
Turn ($1.13) J 9 2 7
Hero checks, CO bets $0.60, Hero calls $0.60
River ($2.33) J 9 2 7 T
Hero bets $1.80, CO calls $1.80
maybe also some sizin mistakes for a bluff. i thouht however that if the villian is weak this sizin or maybe a lover one would be enough for him to fold
Final Pot BB lost and shows high card Queen.
CO wins and shows a straight, Seven to Jack.
CO wins $5.66
Rake is $0.27
i was surprised when i saw his a8. i wouldnt c bet this flop with a8o.
but maybe my bluff was bad because co has a lot of 8s in his range

this is another spot where my bluff arent working im not sure if i should just give up and just play my cards in these stakes. these spots are making me lose a lot of money in zoom.
however the reason why i decide to bluff from time to time is because when i have the nuts and i bet on a less scary board i rarely get called even if im betting like 35 percent pot for value, which makes want to bluff more thinking that betting on scary boards would make villain get scared and fold

Raise flop, pot turn shove river. Seriously, u want to be able to raise your sets and 2 pair hands so need some of your semi bluffs to be raised to not be completely unballenced.

I agree with folding preflop, but don't mind calling. I'd be calling Q5s and Q4s is not too far away for BB defending range vs 2.5x open from cutoff.

consider raising flop/turn, but call is also okay.

at river while I'm not 100% certain but I'd say it's not the best move theoretically.
you don't want to lead the river unless 9(you have a lot of 9 that IP doesn't have) comes.
8 and T can be tricky.. I'm not sure.
However as long as you decided to bluff that's a good choice as it blocks KQ QJ QQ Q8s
So I wouldn't say it was the worst bluff while i wouldn't do that mostly.

But still, it's really good to keep making rational analysis of the player tendencies and make plays that's our of norm with your logic. Believe in yourself and keep trying those 'bad moves'! *It's just unfortunate that he had 8, you don't expect your bluff to get through always. It's successful bluff if if succeeds only 1/3 of the time in your case as you are risking 0.5pot to take down pot. I agree with you that generally(not always) A8o'd be good checking the flop if without Ac + it's bad hand to raise preflop.

You're correct, for some reason I thought it was 0.5 pot lol. Why did i think like that? It's little more than 0.75pot and you should get a fold more than 3/7 of the time which'd be >43%, actually even more because of rake we are risking 1.80 to win around 2.21 and looks like it's ~45%.

i would leave those precalls to sauce123 making NL200z videos ;)
but seriously in a NL10 game this gets allready heavily -EV with the rake.
as played pre i would c/c flop (dont c/R with that EQ) and c/r turn.

Calling preflop is reasonable, but it might require some solid postflop abilities to make it profitable with NL10 rake.

I don't know how much leading we're supposed to be doing on this river, villain has a pretty strong range (potentially all KQ and also some 8x). I'm not sure villain will fine a fold with pairs either because the flushdraw misses.

if you have the skill to play that hand in that spot +EV with NL10 rake you shouldnt be playing NL10.
And telling the average NL10 player that this is "reasonable" is just a lie.

we do have KQcc, and some 8x hands we can/want to lead. so i think we could work in a range that leads. and Q4cc should be a part of it imo.
